Hi everyone! Revlon recently launched their matte nail paints (Rs 190 each) and I received 3 gorgeous bright shades to try out. I love my matte lipsticks but I wasn’t sure about matte nail colors but I’m happy to report, I really like how these looks on my nails. The formula has medium consistency, goes near opaque in two coats, dries quite quickly and has a gel matte finish. These aren’t flat mattes but I really like the cushioned gel matte look. Because of the matte finish, the colors look quite intense and I love the polished velvety look.
Diwali is just around the corner and its raining sales everywhere! I spotted a couple of great products on discount in the Great Amazon Diwali Sale and though I’d do a quick post sharing these with you. While I was choosing the products, I ended up picking a LOT of Lakme products and thought I’d do a separate post for Lakme (like I’d done for Maybelline and L’Oreal Paris in the past). So do stay tuned for the next post about my Lakme picks from the sales.
Meanwhile, lets talk about some amazing makeup and skin care in this post –
The Moist matte lipsticks from L’Oreal Paris are one of the best lipsticks among mid range brands and my favorite shade is Flaming Kiss. Its a warm red that looks amazing on Indian skin and would be perfect to pair with any warm toned eye shadow for festive looks! The formula is creamy, pigmented and doesn’t dry out the lips.
This is a recent discovery and one that I absolutely love! Pretty Please is a rich deep peach color which you will be seeing my next tutorial. Its a very flattering peach for medium and dusky girls. The lipstick has great color pay off, a comfortable matte finish and is very pocket friendly as well.
You might recall this from my recent Pink Lipstick video and a festive tutorial prior to that. Pure Amaranthe is a rich, deep fuchsia that looks amazing on everyone! Once again, the L’Oreal Paris lipstick formula is faultless – its soft and creamy, pigmented and stays well without drying the lips. A must-have for the festive season!
The Revlon Ultra HD lipsticks launched in Japan last week and here’s my review on the 2 shades I picked up – Tulip (a creamy coral) and Gladiolus (a cherry red). These are priced at 1500 JPY + tax. Watch the video for the full review ~
The past week I’ve had this gorgeous blue nail color from Revlon on my finger nails – the Colorstay Gel Envy nail enamel in shade Full House. This is a lovely warm turquoise color that totally brightens up my hands and makes me feel like summer! The formula is excellent – it applies opaque in a single coat but I did two out of habit. It is fairly quick to dry and stays on quite well. I used this with the Sally Hansen Super Shine Top coat but the enamel has a really nice gel shine of its own.
The following pics were taken 5 days after application and as you can see, there is barely any chipping! This is my first color from the Colorstay Gel Envy range but it won’t be the last! I’m so so pleased with this formula and color – highly recommend this!
