Natural, Fresh Makeup | Beginners Tutorial

Hi everyone! I took some time off last week to visit my parents and I packed a very small makeup bag for my visit. I pretty much wore the same look everyday; natural luminous base, defined eyes & brows (most days without eye shadow, just liner and mascara), a hint of pink blush and a natural pink lip. The look I wore was very similar to a natural, fresh look I posted recently on my YouTube channel. Check out the tutorial below!

FOTD : Natural Warm Neutral Makeup

Hey everyone!

I’ve been loving neutral looks lately and one of my favorite recent looks (worn in the Avene review video) is this warm neutral, natural look. I used soft shimmery chocolatey neutrals for the eyes from the I Heart Chocolate palette by Makeup Revolution which is one of the best budget neutral eye shadow palettes I’ve tried. For the cheeks, I once again used a palette by Makeup Revolution to create a luminous, softly bronzed look. And to finish off the look, I chose a dusty peach lipstick by Faces which added just the right amount of color to my face. I think this is a universally flattering look and one that works across occasions!

5 Steps to a No-Makeup Look

Even if you love your lippie and can’t live without mascara, it’s always refreshing to sport a natural no-makeup look from time to time. This obviously shouldn’t be taken literally. It’s all about mastering the art of ‘looking’ like you have no makeup on! As Calvin Klein once said, “The best thing is to look natural, but it takes makeup to look natural.” Here’s how you can achieve a soft, no-makeup look in 5 easy steps –

5 Steps to a No-Makeup Look
5 Steps to a No-Makeup Look

Step 1 : Correct and even out your skin tone

Use a light coverage BB cream or foundation for sheer coverage and a natural finish. The idea is to even out your skin and not mask it under a heavy coverage product. Use a concealer to spot correct areas that need extra coverage such as the under eyes, sun spots and blemishes. Use a light powder to set the base, but remember to use a very light hand to avoid a thick powdery finish.

Step 2 : Tightline your eyes using a black or brown liner

Tightlining simply means lining the top and bottom inner rims of the eyes with liner, staying as close to the lash line as possible. Black can look a little harsh especially on gals with lighter/fairer skin and lighter eyes so I suggest using a brown liner for this step. Apply the liner into the roots of lashes to give them natural volume and instantly open up your eyes.

My Current Everyday Makeup Routine

Hey everyone!

Today I’m sharing a makeup look that I’ve been wearing quite often these days. Its a fresh pink look that brightens up my face and stays up quite well in the heat. I use a brown or black eye pencil with mascara for the eyes. Curling the lashes opens up the eyes and its something I rarely skip! For the face, I use concealer under the eyes, around the mouth and nose area, in areas of blemishes and set everything with a loose powder that gives light coverage and keeps my skin clean and matte. I completely skip foundation most days I’m headed out because I like my skin to have minimal products as most bases don’t hold up very well in the heat. To finish off the look, I use a warm pink blush paired with a soft berry lipstick! All the products I use are listed further in this post.
