5 Steps to a No-Makeup Look

Even if you love your lippie and can’t live without mascara, it’s always refreshing to sport a natural no-makeup look from time to time. This obviously shouldn’t be taken literally. It’s all about mastering the art of ‘looking’ like you have no makeup on! As Calvin Klein once said, “The best thing is to look natural, but it takes makeup to look natural.” Here’s how you can achieve a soft, no-makeup look in 5 easy steps –

Step 1 : Correct and even out your skin tone

Use a light coverage BB cream or foundation for sheer coverage and a natural finish. The idea is to even out your skin and not mask it under a heavy coverage product. Use a concealer to spot correct areas that need extra coverage such as the under eyes, sun spots and blemishes. Use a light powder to set the base, but remember to use a very light hand to avoid a thick powdery finish.

Step 2 : Tightline your eyes using a black or brown liner

Tightlining simply means lining the top and bottom inner rims of the eyes with liner, staying as close to the lash line as possible. Black can look a little harsh especially on gals with lighter/fairer skin and lighter eyes so I suggest using a brown liner for this step. Apply the liner into the roots of lashes to give them natural volume and instantly open up your eyes.

Sunkissed Neutral Makeup Look

Hey everyone!

For Day 27 of the September Challenge, I’ve done a soft sunkissed neutral look. I think this kind of look is flattering on everyone and works for just any occasion. I used bronze tones to achieve a nice warm glow on the skin and the eyes. I defined the eyes well with black liner and to finish the look, I used a dusty peachy brown gloss.

Soft, Romantic Makeup Look

Hey everyone!

For Day 20 of the Daily Look Challenge, I’ve done a soft, dreamy romantic look using natural rosy colors. For the eyes, I used some of my favorite MAC eye shadows to create a bright eyed yet defined look. For the cheeks, I used NARS Amour – a fantastic pink blush for Indian complexions and for the lips, I used a Chanel lipstick in the shade Romantic which fits in with this look perfectly!

Fresh Makeup Look for College/Work

Hey everyone!

Hope you are having a good weekend! Today is Day 13 of the September Daily Look Challenge and today was the first day I didn’t feel like doing makeup in this challenge. But I went ahead anyway and did a soft fresh look that would be great for work or college. I’d asked everyone for ideas for this challenge and many of you requested looks for college/work. Hope you like this one!

I only used concealer for this look but you can also use a BB or CC cream to get some light coverage. I prefer using a concealer to target pigmented areas (under eyes, around the nose, mouth and jawline) and setting it with powder for a clean, low maintenance look. For the cheeks and lips, I chose a fresh peachy pink shade that would brighten up the face and give a natural, youthful glow.

And for the eyes, I defined them well with eye pencils with a little pop of turquoise on the waterline to add a fun element to the look. Finished the look by curling the lashes and applying mascara. I did not fuss around with eye shadow and other products – just kept the look simple and easy!
