MAC Shadescents Ruby Woo Perfume + Lipstick

MAC Shadescents Ruby Woo Lipstick

Hi everyone! The MAC Shadescents collection, which consists of 6 fragrances inspired by the most iconic MAC lipsticks, hits Indian stores on March 17th! They have relaunched the 6 lipsticks as well in a limited edition packaging and I have to say, the color-coordinated tubes looks really sleek and beautiful. There are 6 lipsticks (Rs 1500) and 6 coordinating perfumes (Rs 4500) in this collection – Heroine (purple, matte), Ruby Woo (deep red, retro matte), Lady Danger (bright coral red, matte), Candy Yum-Yum (bright neon pink, matte), Velvet Teddy (neutral nude, matte) and Crème d’Nude (pale beige, cremesheen). I received the Ruby Woo set for review. I am a HUGE fan of the lipstick so I was quite keen to try out the perfume.

Festive Makeup for Durga Puja and Navratri | Gold Eye Makeup – Day to Night

Hey everyone!

Navratri starts in a couple of days and I had loads of requests to do a look for Durga Puja and the upcoming festive season! I’ve created a simple look that you can take from day to night with just a change of lip color. For the eyes, I used a rich bronzy gold eye shadow – MAC Amberlights and paired it with a bronze cheek, a neutral lip for the day time and a bright red for the evening! I kept the eyes richly lines with kohl, I love that look with Indian wear!

Hope you like the look! Don’t forget to leave your comments below!

My Bridal Makeup Kit (so far!)

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to show you the products I’ll be keeping in my bridal makeup kit. Since I’ll be leaving right after the wedding, all my other makeup will be packed and I’ll just be keeping a few things for doing my makeup for the functions.

Here are the products that I’ve decided on so far –

My Bridal Makeup Kit (so far..)

BASE MAKEUP

Prepping products : MAC Strobe cream for the dry-ish areas of the face, Clinique Pore Refining solutions Instant Perfector (in Invisible Deep) for oily parts and large open pores. I also need another primer here though – maybe Clinique Superprimer – not decided yet!

FoundationMAC Matchmaster FoundationBourjois Happy Light foundation. I haven’t got the time to go foundation hunting again so I’m sticking to my trusted favorite MAC Matchmaster for now until I come across something else. Bourjois Happy Light photographs beautifully though slightly lesser coverage but I make up for that with concealer in the required areas. I think I’ll keep this for everyday wear. I will also keep Clinique Superbalanced Foundation as backup in case my skin is feeling too dry. It photographs quite nicely.

Corrector + Concealer : Clinique Even Better concealer Orange Brightener and Honeycomb.

Powder : Clinique Blended Face Powder is excellent! For touch ups, I’ll probably reach for Lakme Absolute Compact since that’s the one I generally carry with me. Its a decent compact but can be high coverage (and little cakey) if you use too much. I might pick up something else before the wedding though.

MAC at WLIFW SS2014 : The Ruby Woo Lip

The MAC Artists team spearheaded by Senior Artist Sonic Sarwate created some stunning makeup looks at the recently concluded Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014! Its hardly winter yet but its interesting to get a peek into the next season’s trends!

I’ve picked out my favorite looks from the shows and here’s the second one that I want to share with all of you – a stunning intense matte red lip that I like to call The Ruby Woo lip. I love Ruby Woo (even though its a bit drying) and by adding a lip liner and pigment to the mix, you can create this rich red lip. This look was created by Sonic Sarwate for the designer Ashish N Soni (Day 5).

Red lips are always in vogue, we saw this in the Au Currant trend for Autumn/Winter and now we see this again in a Spring/Summer show. Find the list of products + face chart for this look inside this post.
