Weight Loss Diaries Vol.20 : Update | 7 Day Dinner Challenge | 5/2 Diet

Hey everyone!

Its been about 4 months since my last update and I thought the time was right to revive my Weight Loss feature. I stopped posting sometime in February as I was feeling a little low on inspiration and my body was not really showing any change. In March, I went back to  my dietician who had helped me lose weight 2 years back as I felt I needed some expert guidance.

Weight Loss Diaries Vol. 17 : The 7 Day Breakfast Challenge

Hey everyone!

Hope you all are doing great! I’ve been bored of the food I’ve been eating lately especially since I decided to stick to home cooked food, even when I want to cheat, I need a challenge to try out new recipes and break out of this monotony! Since breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I’ve been stuck on eating toasted brown bread/cereal for the longest time I can remember now – I’m going to do a 7 Day Breakfast Challenge. So for the next 7 Days, I plan to cook myself something new, something nice for breakfast. The aim to eat something different each day and if possible, something I haven’t tried before. Can think of no better way to start my day 🙂

At the end of the 7 days i.e next Saturday, I’ll be posting my 7 Breakfasts along with the links/recipes which I used to make them. I would love it if you guys can join me in this Challenge, it’ll be a lot of fun seeing what we come up with everyday! I’ll be tweeting pictures daily of my breakfast and you can tweet me a picture of your breakfast too, my Twitter name is @corallista.

Weight Loss Diaries Vol. 13 : Is your weight making you unhappy?

Hey everyone!

Hope you all had a good week. Today I want to talk about a topic that hasn’t previously been talked about much in this feature- coming to terms with your body. Or more accurately, approaching weight issues with with a peaceful state of mind.

Is your weight making you unhappy
Is your weight making you unhappy?

For those who have weight issues, who tend to put on weight easily, who find themselves struggling to lose weight over and over, it can become a source of anguish and mental turmoil. We start feeling envious of those who seem to eat to their heart’s content and don’t put on, we began resenting the people in our lives who push us to take control of our bodies, we are constantly in that state where we want sympathy for not being able to eat what we want. I never realized how important food was for my emotional well being till I had to cut back on foods to lose weight.

Weight loss Diaries Vol. 10 : Post-festival Cleanse Diet

Hey everyone!

The last week wasn’t the easiest week for anyone trying to lose weight. Being Diwali week, there was temptation in the form of sweets and fried food all around! I did indulge a little bit while I was at home but not too much – I didn’t eat carbs at night, ate only home made sweets when I did (in the day time only) and tried to exercise most days. I have now moved to Level 2 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and it is tough! But for a change, I’m enjoying my workout!

I thought this would be a great time to do a cleanse diet and the General Motors diet immediately came to mind. The GM diet was basically developed for the employees of the company and is a week-long diet that is meant to cleanse and de-toxify the body. It starts off with only fruits and vegetables for the first few days but then rice is introduced on the last day. I’d done it many years ago since most adults around me were doing it at time but the results weren’t the greatest (I’m a carbohydrate slave!). I’m hoping this time around it will be better.

Weight Loss Diaries Vol.9 : 5 Tips to avoid weight gain during the Festive Season

Festive season is the worst time for someone who is trying to lose weight. There is hardly any concept of healthy sweets in our country and every home has truck loads of sweets brought in for the festivities! With traveling to home towns, visiting relatives and family gatherings, the diet and exercise routine goes for a toss. The worst part is that small part of yourself that is looking for an excuse to gorge on those sweets (we all crave them secretly!) and then blame the festive season for the weight gain!
