Bright Summer makeup Look

Hi everyone! Its been some time since I did a colorful look so I thought of creating something with one of the lipsticks I’d purchased from ColourPop recently – Ultra Matte lips in shade Lychee. Its a vibrant pinky-purple shade, a little out of my comfort zone, but such a gorgeous color for the spring and summer! I paired it with a sparkly, pastel eye and I love how the overall look turned out. I talk more in detail about each of the products used in the tutorial video. Make sure to check it out to see how I created this look!

Wella Professionals Oil Reflections Launch!

Wella Oil Reflections Launch

Hi everyone! Last month, I attended the launch of the new Wella Professionals Oil Reflections range at Taj Mahal Palace, Colaba. Oil Reflections is the first Wella Professionals precious oil collection, created to give a luxurious hair care experience with up to 72 hours of anti-frizz effect and instant luminosity. The collection has been inspired by Wella Professionals’ best-selling Oil Reflections hair oil, now expanded into a complete hair care collection, featuring a shampoo, conditioner and hair mask to boost the hair’s luminosity.

I can definitely attest to the 72 hours of frizz-free hair because I had the chance to try out the products at the Taj Salon in the form of their Shine Spa treatment (available in select Wella Professionals salons). The treatment consisted of the shampoo and the mask (mixed with the Luminosity Magnifying Elixir, meant for in-salon use) followed by a gentle blow dry. My hair felt super smooth and very silky after the treatment and I was surprised by how little time it took to blow dry it! I also posted a picture on Instagram right after the event.

MAC Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection for Spring-Summer 2017

MAC Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection for Spring-Summer 2017

MAC Makeup Art Cosmetics Full Face Kit - Moons of Saturn

Hi everyone! I was invited by MAC India a couple of weeks back to attend their Spring-Summer 2017 Trends event. It was an interactive session with MAC India Senior Artist Sonic Sarwate about the hottest beauty trends this season. Its all about individual expression when it comes to trends this year. Makeup is more real than ever before and that doesn’t necessarily mean natural, but real in terms of what is ‘real‘ to you. Wearing a bold flick of kohl may be natural to someone while to someone else, a pop of color on the lips may be what makes them feel their best. Trends are more flexible than they’ve ever been before and its all about your own interpretation of a look. Some of the other trends this season are wet (glossy-looking) makeup with strategically placed highlights, color, which may be in pop or subtle form and monochrome makeup. While I’m not one to follow trends too closely, they do give some fresh ideas and inspiration fpr trying out new looks!

I also received a goodie bag at the event with some pieces from the Makeup Art Cosmetics collection for Spring-Summer 2017. MAC has collaborated with 3 makeup artists to create this HUGE collection! Thanks to MAC India for the generous gift! I’m sharing quick thoughts on the products I was gifted below.

Spring-Summer launches from Clinique India

Hi everyone! Yesterday I attended the launch of the new Clinique Fresh pressed system and BIY Blend it yourself pigment drops at Verbena, Lower Parel. The setting and ambiance was so lovely with lots of light and greenery, I thought I’d share a few pictures from the launch with you.

The Fresh pressed range has 2 products – a powder cleanser that comes in one-time use satchets and a Vitamin C Booster Emulsion that you can add to your moisturizer for powerful anti-ageing and brightening benefits. The new launch in makeup this season are the BIY pigment drops that allow you to create a custom coverage base product, with the texture of your choice. It reminds me of the CoverFX Custom Cover drops! There’s also a new mascara which once again plays to the custom theme, you can basically vary the amount of product picked up by the wand to get a natural or dramatic look. I’ll be reviewing all these products once I’ve had the chance to try them out for a few weeks. Happy weekend!

My Top 10 Spring-Summer Beauty Essentials

Spring-Summer Beauty Essentials

As spring slowly eases into summer, its time to update our beauty routines if you’ve not done that already! Its time to switch the lush oils and creams for lighter, non-greasy textures, ditch the vampy lip colors and smokey eyes for pop liners and cheery bright lip colors.

I’ve picked out my top 10 spring-summer beauty essentials below!

1. Face Cleanser | It’s very important to change up your skin care as the seasons change. Skin tends to get a little oily as the weather starts to warm up. This seasonal change can cause clogged pores and pimples. I absolutely love using Forest Essentials Mysore Sandalwood & Nagkesar Masque when my skin needs a deep, non-stripping cleanse. This also tightens and brightens skin slightly, drawing out unwanted impurities and excess oil. In fact, it’s one of my favorite picks and I recommend using this once or twice weekly.

2. Hydrating Face Cream | This is also the time to change your moisturizer, especially your night cream. While I love using facial oils in winter, I prefer something a little lighter in Spring-Summer, without compromising on hydration and anti-ageing benefits. The Innisfree Orchid Enriched Cream is the perfect option for ladies in their late 20s-early 30s as it provides ample hydration in a gel-cream formula and addresses early ageing concerns as well!

3. Dry Shampoo | I think a dry shampoo is a must for sweaty Indian summers! It’s the time of year when scalps experience increased oiliness, leading to limp, greasy looking second day hair. A dry shampoo absorbs excess oil and adds lift and texture to the roots. The Batiste Dry shampoo in Blush has a lovely mild floral scent. Plus, it doesn’t leave white traces and the small travel size is perfect for carrying in one’s handbag!
