Anyone who has struggled to grow their hair and succeeded will tell you that there is a lot more to ensuring you have healthy long hair, than simply shampooing, conditioning, and combing it regularly. The key to healthy long locks is in a comprehensive hair care routine, along with certain lifestyle and dietary changes. Your nutrition, sleep patterns, and stress levels impact the quality of hair, as they affect the various bodily processes that promote hair growth.

 

Here are some simple tips for healthy long hair :

1. Brushing – Experts will often suggest that you brush your day at least 50 times a day, as this improves circulation. While this may be true, this is not a practical solution for most working professionals with long hair; brushing your hair can be rather time consuming when you grow it long. Instead, try to brush it every hour or two, before going to bed, when you wake each morning, and whenever you do get a chance to. Brushing your hair a few times a day beats doing it just once, or not at all!

 

2. Oiling – Oil and massage your hair once or twice a week to provide it with some much-needed nutrition and gently massage your scalp while applying the oil. You can use a combination of different oils, but coconut and almond oil are among the most popular for hair care. Try to avoid products with strong fragrances and added chemicals, as these are likely to be harsh and damaging to the follicles.
