How to : Store + Clean Makeup Brushes

 

Hey everyone!

Today I’m going to talk about a very important aspect of makeup that many women aren’t very familiar with and that is how to take care of your makeup brushes. Makeup brushes are super important beauty tools and can make a big difference in the finish of your makeup. If cared for well, brushes are an excellent investment and can last many years!

Always store the brushes upright or flat

Never store your brushes facing down i.e bristles facing down otherwise the shape of the brush will get completely destroyed. You can store them laid out flat in a tray/box or upright (bristles facing up) in a stand. I generally use pen stands on my desk for keeping my brushes – they are easy to reach everyday!

 

Regular Washing

Brushes accumulate a lot of bacteria and germs and must be cleaned regularly! If you have breakout prone skin, then it is all the more important to clean everything that touches your face. Because microbes flourish in damp and warm environments, foundation/concealer brushes are more prone to bacterial buildup. Dirty brushes that can lead to eye infections, breakouts etc. so clean your brushes every week and if possible more often.
