Today I am going to talk about some of my favorite face packs for oily and acne prone skin. I’ve had breakout prone, blemished skin for years now and while I’ve been able to take control of it to some extent, it still breaks out incessantly (underlying hormonal issues at play here). I also have a really oily T-zone which makes summers a terrible time for my skin with breakouts, oiliness, dullness and congestion. Face masks are a saviour when it comes to keeping my skin looking clean, smooth, fresh with minimal breakouts and today I’m sharing 5 great face masks that help with that. If you have oily or breakout prone skin or skin that gets congested and just a bit grimy in the summers, you’ll find these recommendations helpful!
Today I have another skincare review for you, for a product that has been really great for my break out prone skin – Avene Cleanance Mask. If you have acne prone skin, troublesome skin, this is a must-have!

This was a much requested post by many of you in the days leading up to the wedding. Because of all the hustle and bustle of moving and wedding prep, I didn’t get a chance to do this post. I don’t have all the products which I was using back then with me at the moment but I have listed all of them out. Hope you find this post useful!
My skin has been in good shape for a while now so I didn’t undergo any treatments in the months leading up to the wedding. I didn’t have any major issues with acne or pigmentation that needed attention so I just stuck to a good skincare routine – twice a day at home. Along with that, I ensured I had at least 3 liters of water and trust me, that is super important for clear skin!
I have combination skin with an oily T-zone but prone to dehydration during winters. I get occasional breakouts but my skin is not overly sensitive. What I needed was a routine that kept my skin hydrated and radiant. Here are the products I was using (about 1-1.5 months before the wedding) –
MORNING ROUTINE –
1. Cleansing : Cosmedic Avederm*/Vivel*
I switched to soap-free cleansers as they work best during winter months for me. I have reviewed the Cosmedic Avederm cleanser here which is quite gentle and mild, I really like it. I was alternating it with the new VivelCell Renew Pollution Protect Face Wash which is quite gentle as well (other pros – smells good and is very affordable!).
Exfoliation : About 2-3 times a week, I was using a gentle scrub instead of the face wash to cleanse. I was initially using Lotus Herbals WhiteGlow Scrub which is an excellent gentle affordable scrub. My skin felt soft and radiant after using it each time. Once I finished it up, I switched to The Body Shop Vitamin C Microdermabrasion which is really good. I am still using it twice a week and it keeps my skin soft and supple.
