I’d been planning this post since before the wedding but the last few weeks leading up to the wedding were so hectic that I never got the time to put this up. I still don’t have all the pictures I wanted for this post but I’ve left everything back home in Bhopal so I’m just posting this with the pics I have at the moment! Just a little disclaimer before I talk about my outfits – I don’t believe in spending exorbitantly on weddings especially outfits one would rarely wear again. So this post won’t talk about designer outfits and such! This isn’t a comprehensive guide to bridal outfits, just a recount of what I picked!
- I was more or less clear on what I wanted to wear. Since the wedding wasn’t an elaborate affair with very few functions, I didn’t need a lot of outfits and since I was to move abroad right after the wedding, I didn’t want to buy too many outfits or spend a crazy amount on the wedding outfit. I had decided beforehand that I wanted to wear a saree and I wanted pieces that were youthful, bright and light [work-wise], not too heavy or traditional. My Mum was mostly on board with my choices but did chip in when she felt the saree was a little too ‘modern‘. I generally know instantly when I like something and can decide quite quickly so shopping was a breeze!
- My Sarees were bought in October within 2 days. My mum and I shopped from 3 stores- Jashn, Soch and Aishwarya Sarees. Jashn and Soch are present in many malls, we went to Inorbit Malad. Aishwarya Sarees has a couple of stores in Mumbai, we went to the one in Irla (Andheri West).
Wishing all of you a very Happy New Year 2014! Hope this year bring lots of happiness and joy in your lives!

Hope you’ve had a fabulous weekend! The past week was my first in Japan and here are a few glimpses from the pictures I posted on Instagram ~
Sorry for being away from the blog! We got married a week ago and I’m sitting in our cozy apartment in Tokyo as I write this post! I know all of you are really eager to see the wedding pics so here’s a sneak peek. These were taken by my cousin sister from her phone so they aren’t very high res. Will put up the official photos once they come in!
