Micellar Waters for Makeup Removal

Micellar waters are a makeup-artist favorite worldwide and they certainly are very useful (and quick!) for light makeup removal and cleansing. Micellar cleansing waters may have been limited to French pharmacy brands till a few years back but more and more drugstore skincare brands are jumping on cleansing water bandwagon. While brands like Garnier and Nivea haven’t yet introduced their very popular and affordable micellar cleansing waters in the Indian market, we do have options like Bioderma, Avene, Vichy and Yves Rocher to try out!

Micellar cleansing waters basically look and feel just like water but on a microscopic level, they contain tiny oil molecules that attach themselves to dirt and oil on the skin, which are then cleansed off. They are simple to use – just soak a cotton pad with the micellar water, rest on the skin for a few seconds and wipe off. The cleansing agents using in micellar waters are mild and in low concentration, so there is no stinging or tingling, making them ideal for sensitive skin. But for the same reason, they are not the most effective choice for waterproof or long stay makeup and you may need several rounds of cleansing to get stubborn makeup off.

But the no-rinse formula and ease of use definitely makes these very handy for travel and for situations where you may not have the luxury of a proper cleanse with running water. And you can use them for the entire face, including the eyes and the lips. I personally love the fact that micellar waters feel really gentle and leave the skin cleansed and refreshed.

I’ve shared my thoughts on a few cleansing waters that I’ve used below.

My Illuminate Makeover at Lakmé Absolute Salon | Review

Hi everyone! Lakmé Salon has introduced a range of new services as part of their new Illuminate menu and I visited the salon at Bandra few days back to try out some of the new skin, hair and nail services. The Lakmé experts have interpreted the Illuminate theme with a fresh perspective and we see some sparkle, some color and shine in the new hair, nail and makeup looks. In addition to these bold and colorful looks, there are a few skincare services too like the Illuminate facial and Insta Sheen Facial. You can request the Illuminate catalog when you visit the salon or have a look at here.

I opted to try out the Copper Dust Manicure, the Candy Flush Hair Color and the Perfect Radiance Illuminate Facial for my review. All these services are available across Lakmé Salons in India and in Lakmé Absolute Salons in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. You can find your nearest Lakmé Salon here and explore the different services offered here.

My Skincare Workshop with Clarins

Last weekend, Clarins and I hosted some of my lovely readers at Shoppers Stop, Inorbit, Malad for a unique skincare experience. The Clarins team had prepped their counter and treatment room to provide a personalised skincare consultation to each attendee, followed by a 30-min facial treatment using the recommended products. I was quite nervous since I’ve never done this kind of an event with a brand before but all my nerves went away from the moment my first reader walked in!

We started off with a one-on-one consultation with Meeta, Clarins skin expert and head trainer. Meeta has been with Clarins for a decade now and has extraordinary knowledge of skin and all things Clarins! At Clarins, before they start recommending any products to you, they take into account your preferences, concerns and current routine. They evaluate your skin and based on what your skin needs and the kind of products you enjoy using, they recommend a regimen for you which is simple, yet addresses your concerns.
