Weight Loss Diaries Vol.24 : 3 week Progress

Hey everyone!

Its been exactly 3 weeks since my last Weight Loss dairies update. During my last update, I was struggling a little with motivation since progress had been nil. In this update I’m happy to share that there has been some progress and even though I’ve been slacking a little, the results are motivating me to get back on track full steam.

Weight Loss Diaries

About 2 weeks back, we took a 2 day hiking trip to Mount Fuji (the highest peak in Japan) and that was really physically challenging for me and helped me shed some weight that wasn’t budging. There was lots of hiking and walking with restricted diet and that seemed to have helped my weight loss significantly. Since my last update, I have lost 3 kgs and 4.5 inches overall. I’m definitely feeling and looking a little bit slimmer and that is motivating me to be more regular with my workout and diet regime.

My diet regime has been a little erratic mostly due to lack of planning. I have not been restricting myself completely but somehow my body is still losing inches and weight. I just made sure to not completely let go of the entire diet plan if one meal goes wrong. But bad habits always catch up in time and I want to be more regular and clean with my diet in the coming week. A few hours dedicated to meal prep on Sunday always helps me set the tone for the coming week!

Weight Loss Diaries Vol.22 : Update and Motivation!

Hey everyone!

Those who have been reading my blog for a long time would remember a series called the Weight Loss Diaries. I used to talk about my struggles with weight, what I was doing to lose weight and my progress. Somewhere down the line due to lack of results and motivation, this series as well my weight loss dreams were forgotten. Even though I was aware of my weight and how I looked every single day and in my mind, I knew what I should be doing – very little of it translated into what I was actually doing. The result was as you’d expect – nothing changed.

Sunday Recipe : 2 Healthy Quick Meals

Hey everyone!

In this week’s recipe edition, I’m sharing 2 quick and easy healthy recipes that I’ve been loving this past week. If you’re trying to eat healthier or lose weight, you’d love these fresh, filling and flavorful meals.

Veggie Delight Dalia

Veggie Delight Dalia

What you need :

Dalia (broken wheat, boiled in water)

Vegetables : Broccoli, capsicum, peas, carrots (or any mix of vegetables you have in the fridge)

Boiled corn, kidney beans (rajma)

– Cumin (jeera), 1 tbsp Oil, Salt, Pepper, Lemon

Dalia is basically broken wheat and I often substitute rice with dalia in our meals as its quite healthy. For this recipe, boil and cook the dalia in plain water till its softened and cooked. Heat oil in a pan, add the cumin (jeera) and when the seeds are crackling, stir fry the veggies till they are half way cooked. The vegetables should retain their crunch and not get mushy for this recipe. Add salt and pepper to the vegetables cooking in the pan. Add in the cooked dalia and mix well with the vegetables. Taste and adjust salt/pepper. Cook for about 2 minutes and turn off the heat. Garnish with fresh lemon juice before serving!

Weight Loss Diaries Vol.21 : 5 Healthy Tasty Dishes (Recipes) | What I’ve been eating

Hey everyone!

Its been a while since I wrote about a weight loss update. Health took a backseat because August was a little hectic and I wasn’t being very particular with my diet and exercise routines. But since Lakme Fashion Week ended, I’ve been trying to eat clean and healthy. I’ve been instagramming my meals and I thought of doing a quick recipe breakdown of 5 dishes I’ve been loving lately!

1. Banana Cinnamon Smoothie

I love fruit milk shades and smoothies and a banana smoothie makes an excellent breakfast! Banana is quite calorie rich and has potassium apart from Vitamins C and B-6. Its also rich in dietary fibre and antioxidants. A large glass of this smoothie is very filling and keeps me full for 2-3 hours!
