3 Party Looks for Indian skin | Video Tutorial

Hi everyone! As the year comes to an end, holiday season parties are on everyone’s mind. I’ve been really into doing party makeup looks these past few weeks and here are 3 of my most recent videos for some party makeup inspiration. I love a red lip as it instantly brightens and lifts the whole face. To give a little party spin to a classic red lip-winged liner combination, I added a thin silver liner with the black. This look is really striking, definitely party-worthy and quite easy to do. You don’t need any eye shadows for this look! I used my favorite red lipstick – MAC Ruby Woo for this look. If you haven’t been keeping up with the news, MAC is now available at Nykaa.com 🙂

Red Lips or smokey eyes may not be everyone’s cup of tea. For fans of a nude look, I did a soft gold party look last week which pairs a soft brown lip with a gold eye. To add a little festive spin to it, I used a gold pigment over the eyes, with a soft cut crease. Winged liner always looks pretty and I made sure to use a generous bit of highlighter on the cheekbones for a golden glow.

For those who love the drama of a black smokey eye, this sparkly smokey eye look would be perfect! I generally don’t do black smokey eyes as they can be difficult to pull off but I loved how the silver pigment added some sparkle and shine to a flat smokey eye. To keep the focus on the eyes, I used a neutral blush and warm nude lip.

Which of these 3 looks would you like to try out? My personal favorite is the red lip 🙂

Dark Lip Look on Indian Skin | Tutorial

Hi everyone! Dark, vampy lips have been a huge trend this season and I’ve always been a little skeptical about whether I could pull off a deep, dark lip color. I finally experimented a little and found some lip shades that worked for Indian skin. Its all about balancing the bold lip with the right neutral, defining eye makeup and fresh complexion. Dark lip colors can draw out the color from the face, so a rosy blush on the cheeks helps a lot in bringing the look together. I would also suggest plum or burgundy based lip colors instead of greyish or bluish tones as they are more flattering. Hope you find this tutorial helpful!

Lipcolor is ColourPop Ellarie Lip Pencil paired with Dukes Lippie Stix. I ordered the lip products from the ColourPop website and used a forwarding service to get it shipped to India. It’s a convenient and secure way to get products shipped from overseas to India. They basically give you a US address (if you’re shipping from the USA) where you can get packages delivered from any US retailer. They then combine all your packages and ship it to your Indian address. You can pay via credit card or COD. The charges are slightly on the higher side as compared to USPS and the website could do with some upgrades but overall, its the safest way and quickest way to get brands that are not available in India. Check out ShipOutFromUSA.com to know more about how this works.

Videos This Week

Hi everyone! I hope you had a good week! Here is a recap of the videos that went up on my YouTube channel this week. Still in the spirit of Diwali festivities, I uploaded 2 tutorials – one is a soft, day time look where I’ve also shown a step-by-step skin care routine using Aviance Hydra Balance range. Starting with the soothing and fresh Cleansing Gel from the range, I cleansed my face and then used the Serum for deep reaching hydration and the Day Creme for instant nourishment and a dewy finish. Watch my video embedded below to see the full routine on how to prep you skin before makeup application.

In the second video, I’ve shown the look I wore on Diwali evening. Its a fairly simple look with emphasis on the eyes in the form of metallic gold eye shadow, paired with a neutral warm lip. Next, keeping up with new launches, I’ve swatched all the shades of the new Nykaa Floral Carnival collection for you. Its a gorgeous collection and if you’re a fan of pinks, purples and deeper rouge tones, do check it out. And lastly, since the last DIY video was so well-received and I got several requests for dry skin remedies, I’ve done a DIY Moisturizing Scrub-Mask that can help you achieve soft, smooth, moisturized skin this winter!

Festive Fever Diwali Makeup Tutorial with L’Oreal Makeup Designer Paris | VIDEO

Hi everyone! With Diwali so close, I thought I would do a bold and festive tutorial using the products I was sent by the L’Oreal Paris team! For the lips, I decided to go with a classic, rich red since that is THE color of the season. For the eyes, I was tempted to do a simple gold eye or a winged liner but I’ve done those kind of looks before so I decided to step out of my comfort zone a little bit and did a dramatic winged smoky eye using a peachy brown eye shadow and an iridescent plum. I really like how it turned out! Its a little more dramatic than what I am generally used to but Diwali is the time one could go all out!

What do you think of this look? Check out the tutorial below for the full step-by-step!
