Spring-Summer launches from Clinique India

Hi everyone! Yesterday I attended the launch of the new Clinique Fresh pressed system and BIY Blend it yourself pigment drops at Verbena, Lower Parel. The setting and ambiance was so lovely with lots of light and greenery, I thought I’d share a few pictures from the launch with you.

The Fresh pressed range has 2 products – a powder cleanser that comes in one-time use satchets and a Vitamin C Booster Emulsion that you can add to your moisturizer for powerful anti-ageing and brightening benefits. The new launch in makeup this season are the BIY pigment drops that allow you to create a custom coverage base product, with the texture of your choice. It reminds me of the CoverFX Custom Cover drops! There’s also a new mascara which once again plays to the custom theme, you can basically vary the amount of product picked up by the wand to get a natural or dramatic look. I’ll be reviewing all these products once I’ve had the chance to try them out for a few weeks. Happy weekend!

5 DIY Oatmeal Scrubs for Flawless Skin

Makeup Look - Bright Magenta Lip

You’re probably thinking that oatmeal is a pretty random ingredient to use while making a face scrub. After all, isn’t this an ingredient that’s more at home in your kitchen than on your dressing table? Well, oatmeal has a ton of skin care benefits such as reducing dry skin and soothing itchy skin. Moreover, its grainy texture really helps when you use it as an exfoliator as you can then remove all dead skin and impurities easily. Instead of risking the chemical burn of branded exfoliators, try any of these DIY oatmeal scrubs that you can make at home. These scrubs when used with homemade peel off masks will result in clearer, dirt-free, glowing skin!

1. The plain Jane scrub

  • One of the best things about an oatmeal scrub is that you don’t even have to add more ingredients to it. It’s the perfect lazy girl recipe!
  • Mix some oatmeal with hot water and let it sit until it becomes soft.
  • Rub the oats in a circular motion all over your face to exfoliate.

2. The oatmeal and milk scrub

  • This oats scrub can be used to moisturize your skin slightly while you exfoliate.
  • Just add some warm milk to the oats until they become soft.
  • This should take 5-10 minutes. Rub it all over your face in a circular motion.
  • If you don’t feel like using milk, you can always use a substitute in the form of a mild moisturizer like Olay Moisturizing Lotion.

Dermalogica IonActive Treatment : Review

Dermalogica Ion Active Treatment

Hi everyone! About a month back, I visited the Dermalogica offices here in Mumbai to try out their IonActive Power Treatment. If you’re not familiar with the brand, Dermalogica is a US based brand that offers targeted and effective skin care, free from common irritants and breakout causing ingredients. The brand focusses on skin health, which is why a lot of their products are recommended by dermatologists and used by professional skin therapists.

The IonActive Power Treatment is a 45-minute service that is designed to address predominant skin conditions such as acne, dehydration, sensitivity and skin ageing. It is offered exclusively at approved Dermalogica Partnered Salons/Clinics by licensed professional skin therapists. If you have serious skin concerns that your neighbourhood salon doesn’t have the expertise to address, I would recommend this treatment.

Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Spring Water, Aqualia Thermal Night Spa | Review

Hi everyone! Today I’m reviewing two skincare products from the French brand Vichy – the Mineralizing Thermal Spring Water and the Aqualia Thermal Night Spa. I’ve been using the Night Spa on and off since the past few months while the Spring water is new to me. The Night Spa is a slightly different product – its a sleeping mask-treatment that helps moisturize the skin overnight.

Let’s take a closer look at these two products.
