New Year’s Eve is here and you’re probably sorting out your outfit and beauty look for the upcoming party. Go trendy and dramatic this New Year’s Eve with this bold plum toned look, which may look quite intense but is super easy to create. An evening party is the perfect occasion to flaunt a dramatic look like this but you can emphasise only the eyes or lips if you’re not used to wearing this kind of look.
When it comes to makeup in Bollywood, a Smoky Eye is the most recreated look and its all credit to Mickey Contractor who first started the trend by giving the starlets beautiful brown smoky eyes. My latest video is inspired by this video by MAC Cosmetics where Mickey has recreated the signature Bollywood Smoky eye! Its a really simple look in terms of products needed but looks super glamorous!
Hope you enjoy my interpretation of the look.

I’ve been trying out colored contacts from a Korean brand called O-Lens (available in India HERE) and since Green is my favorite color after soft browns, I thought I’d show you a party smoky eye look using the Jenith-3 Green lenses. Plum and Burgundy shades complement Green and hence make the color stand out more. These shades work beautifully with Indian complexions so if you’d like to start with colored lenses, I’d recommend Green lenses!

Today I was in the mood for a smoky eye and I decided to try out a burgundy eye shadow I hadn’t used till now – Makeup Geek eye shadow in Burlesque. I love plum and berry eye shadows and Burlesque is a gorgeous color with a soft, pigmented formula. I paired this smoky eye with a soft rose pink lipstick from Givenchy – Le Rouge Lipstick in Brun Vintage. I used Makeup Geek Blush in Love Affair to tie the look together.
On popular demand, I’ve created an easy blue smoky eye look which I paired with a nude lip and earthy cheeks! Blue is a very flattering color for brown eyes and quite in trend as well. I used only a single blue eye shadow for this look – from the Sleek Bad Girleye shadow palette. You can recreate this with any royal blue or navy eye shadow. Some options are – Inglot eye shadow 428P, MAC Deep Truth, Makeup Geek Nautica and L’Oreal Paris Infallible All Night Blue.
You can pair this eye makeup with your favorite nude lipstick. I’ve gone with a new shade today – Revlon SuperLustrous Lipstick in SandalwoodBeige which is a lovely creamy peachy nude color – great for light to medium complexions. Hope you enjoy the tutorial!
