Hey everyone!

I attended the MAC Spring-Summer 2013 Trends presentation back in February this year wherein the 4 Key trends of the season were showcased. Present on the occasion were Mickey Contractor (Director of Makeup Artistry, M.A.C India) and Sonic Sarwate (M.A.C Senior Artist) who demonstrated each of the looks.

This season, the trends are very soft and sophisticated – almost poetic in their description. Polished clean skin, blended edges, a pop of color or pastel hybrid or just gleaming tanned skin – each look has its own beauty and appeal. The 4 looks are as follows – Sig-nature, Nu-ance, Sci-chedelic, Puri-tan.

Trend #1 : Bronzed, highlighted glowing skin

Nothing feels more like summer than a healthy tan and a bronzed glow on the skin! Highlighted, glowing skin with a generous dose of bronzer was the key face makeup trend during Lakme Fashion Week. The Lakme Absolute Moon lit highlighter is perfect for this look – it has a bronzer on one and a highlighter on the other.

Trend #2 : Soft beige, pink eye shadows

Soft beige, pink and sable shades with a hint of pearl shimmer were used extensively. A wash of eye shadow with loads of mascara and your eyes are summer-ready in a jiffy! Can be paired with a bright orange or fuchsia as well as natural pink gloss.

The Lakme Desert Rose eye shadow quad has the perfect shades for this look. It was used backstage for most of the nude eye makeup looks.

The last day of Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2013 started off with a pastel bubble gum lip look for Outhouse and ended with the Grand Finale with the Poptints collection by Namrata Joshipura. Hey everyone!

Today was Indian Textile Day at Lakme Fashion Week and the ramp saw some stunning designs made with Indian fabrics. The makeup consisted of 2 key looks that work very well with Indian wear (and complexions) – all over glowing natural look and smokey eyes with heavy kohl! Lots of braids and buns today with some very pretty and feminine accessories like desi gulabs (Indian rose) and hand woven butterfly clips.

Lots of celebrities also walked the ramp for the designers today – I’ve got pictures of Chitrangada Singh (who looks stunning!), Prachi Desai, Hazel Keech, Vidya Malvade, Aditi Rao Hyadri and Malaika Arora in this post! The Vikram Phadnis show saw Diya Mirza, Neha Dhupia, Kiran Rao, Dino Morea, Malaika Arora, Farah Khan, Ayushman Khurana, Juhi Chawla and many more celebs.
