About the perfume : Fresh and luminous, the secret of this caressing, fruity floral is its “jasmine tea” theme. The fragrance faithfully reflects its inspiration’s transparency and delicacy. Notes – Cranberry, Green Tea, White Peony, Sambac Jasmine, Blond Woods, White Musks.
Givenchy Ange Ou Etrange Le Secret is one of the oldest perfumes in my collection. I remember having a sample of this and loving it so, so much that even once I’d used up the sample tissue, I kept the wrapper around because it smelled so lovely and carried the scent for many, many days. It comes in a pink champagne colored bottle which has an interesting shape. I don’t particularly love the packaging, it doesn’t really speak to me or represent the scent but I LOVE the fragrance itself.
Its a fresh, fruity floral but done in a very balanced and feminine way. It smells a bit like iced berry tea on first sniff and eases into a delicate floral. Sometimes fresh scents can be too crisp, almost giving off a cleaning agent feel but this one doesn’t. It smells sophisticated and soft and it is long lasting, especially once you spray it on clothing. It doesn’t sit too close to the skin but its not a perfume that would be overpowering or offensive to people around you. I think this is one of the most unique fragrances I’ve tried.
The top notes of cranberry, green tea leaves and Italian winter lemon are uplifting and very inviting, especially in the summer months. The peony gives it the delicate floral heart while patchouli, jasmine and white musk give it a grounding base. I love that this fragrance has a slight sweetness to it, without being sugary. There are too many perfumes out there that open up fruity, only to ease into woody florals or musky vanilla. But this stays fresh and slightly sour throughout its wear. This perfume is the perfect example of how feminine fresh scents should be done! It is one of my personal favorites, I highly recommend it.
