About the perfume : An intoxicating blend of cassis and black currant extracts at the top will tantalize your senses. The fragrance then moves to an accord of May rose, neroli absolute, davana and osmanthus. Patchouli, vanilla, ambroxan and a blend of woody notes are the finishing touch in the base.
Giorgio Armani Sì is undoubtedly the most polished scent in my collection. The packaging is simple, clean and elegant – much like the fragrance itself. It opens with rich fruity notes of cassis and black currant, the fruitiness sweetened with a sugary note. One would associate fruity notes with freshness but the choice of cassis and currant gives it a rich sweetness instead of a crisp freshness. Normally I do not like sugary fragrances but since the note is very soft here, I do not mind at all. Vanilla is a dominant note throughout, but the heart of May rose, the musky dry down and the earthy patchouli balance it out very nicely. It definitely has a warmth to it but its not heady or intense, which makes it very elegant and wearable. The staying power is excellent, it stays almost the entire day on me and it doesn’t stray too far from the skin.
Even though the perfume takes you through a journey, starting with juicy rich fruits, warming up to a soft musky vanilla with a backdrop of elegant florals, it stays simple and lovely throughout. No particular note jumps out in a loud fashion, and in that sense I feel its a ‘safe’ perfume to wear. That doesn’t mean its boring, many would describe this as a romantic scent! You can wear it anywhere though I prefer it for slightly formal or special occasions. Some might find this scent a little too mature but I personally love how elegant, lovely and for lack of a better word, expensive, this smells. If you’re looking for something soft, feminine and timeless, Sì is the fragrance to go for.
