Hi everyone! Chambor has recently introduced the Gel Effect Nail Lacquers in over 50 shades. Today I’ll be reviewing two of the shades from the range, a nude shade (301) and a metallic champagne color (652). These are priced at Rs 325 each and are supposed to give a high-shine, plumped finish of a gel manicure.
Chambor Gel Effect Nail Lacquer – Review
When it comes to nail polishes, there are a few things that I look for – good quality brush, even formula, good opacity, clean finish and durability. The Chambor Gel Effect Nail lacquer does well in a few of these departments – the rounded tip brush makes application easy, the formula is uniform & non-streaky, and the finish is smooth and glossy. But where this falls short is the wear time. The gel-like shine wears off in 2-3 days and the nail paint starts chipping by day four. The nail polish isn’t difficult to remove and doesn’t leave any stain on the nails.
So even though the formula is really nice to apply and doesn’t stain the nails, the low wear time makes it a little disappointing. If you don’t mind using a base coat and top coat to enhance the wear time, this range does have some very nice shades. My favorite is shade number 301 which is a pale peachy-nude with faint shimmer. It looks really clean on the nails. And to add a pop of shine, I used shade 652 on my ring fingernail. The metallic shade has a uniform formula though like the other shades, I would recommend 2 coats to get an opaque layer of color.
