Hi everyone! Bobbi Brown India has just launched their Wine & Chocolate collection, a decadent collection of beautiful rich hues of burgundy and browns. I have a few pieces from this range that I would be reviewing for you today.
Bobbi Brown Brightening Blush – Pink Truffle (Rs 3900)
The product that has been getting the most love from me is their Brightening Blush in the shade Pink Truffle. Firstly, the gold packaging with the magnetic closure is just gorgeous. Secondly, the color and the finish is so wearable and natural, I can’t stop wearing this blush. It has 3 strips of color, a tawny shade dominating the pan with two other narrow strips with varying levels of shimmer. The main color in the pan adds a beautiful natural warmth to my cheeks, and works with just everything. Its a sheer color that can be built up if you’d like to make it more intense. It has very subtle shimmer so it has some translucent luminosity, nothing too shiny. The second strip of color has some chunky shimmer so I’m not a fan while the last shade is a luminous soft earthy peach. I don’t really care for the last 2 shades, I’d be happy with just a full pan of the dominating shade. If you’re someone who prefers very natural, nude makeup, you would love this! The wear time is pretty good as well, around 7 hours or so. I wouldn’t recommend this for dusky skin though as the color may not show up too well.
Bobbi Brown Chocolate Eye palette (Rs 4700)
The Chocolate eye palette is a lovely mix of 4 eye shadows and 3 powder liner shades. The eye shadows have a soft, buttery smooth formula and 3 out of the 4 colors are mattes. Because of the mattes dominating the palette, this is great for everyday wear and neutral, understated looks. The pearly chocolate-bronze shade lends some variety to the palette and is great for adding a little warm metallic touch to the eyes. The eye shadows have a buildable formula so they might not wow you in a single swipe, but you can layer them to intensify the color. This makes them quite easy-to-use and perfect for beginners. The 3 shades of liner are basically more saturated, dark powder shades that can be used to line the eyes. I really like the color options here. The liners come out a little more pigmented if you use a damp angled brush. I’ve used the rightmost shade to line my eyes in the makeup in this post, you can see it looks a little softer than a liquid liner but still adds a nice definition. The eye shadows have a decent wear time, I get around 6 hours without any primer.
I think it is a good basic palette and the colors seem to work nicely with my medium skin tone. For someone who likes simple, classic, neutral looks, this would be a very useful palette. Just like the blush, this also comes in a magnetic packaging with a chocolate brown leathery-cover.
Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color – Tawny (Rs 3250)
I’m a big fan of the Luxe Lip Color, not just for the beautiful packaging but for the smooth, hydrating formula as well. The packaging is beautiful, something one would love to carry in one’s handbag and display on one’s vanity. The creamy formula glides on the lips with ease, adds nearly opaque color with a satin finish and feels very nourishing. The shade Tawny is a medium brown color which I think would look lovely on ladies with deep skin. I personally prefer wearing this as a stain, lightly mixed with lip balm as the color can make my face a little dull when worn to full intensity. If you are fan of browns in general though, you can give this a try. Even if this is not your color, I would highly recommend the Luxe Lip Color formula, its the most comfortable and luxurious lipstick formula I’ve tried so far!
Bobbi Brown Nail Polish – Wine (Rs 1150)
The last piece in the collection that I was sent by the brand, is their nail polish in shade Wine. I can tell you now that this has become my nail uniform this winter! I love the color and formula and just can’t stop wearing it. The rich burgundy color is so flattering and so appropriate for winters. I love the smooth, opaque formula which dries really quickly and gives a stunning glossy finish. It stays without chipping for about 5-6 days after which there is wear around the tips. If you like darker nail polishes and are looking for a luxurious formula, I would highly recommend this!
This is the look that I created using these products. I’m wearing eye shadows/liner from the Chocolate eye palette, Pink Truffle blush on the cheeks and Tawny lipstick, sheered down with some lip balm.
Which of these products would you like to try out?
