FOTD : Berry Lips, Messy Curls

Hi everyone! I’m usually one for sleek hair but I tried out a more textured, messy look today and thought I’d share the breakdown. In terms of makeup, I went minimal on the base, liner/lashes and concentrated on color – both on the cheeks and lips. I quite like how the final look turned out, a lot more natural and fresh. Read on further for the products used for this look.

  2. MAC Fleur Power Blush
  3. theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer (contour)
  4. Rimmel Nude in the Box palette (matte brown shade – lids, brows)
  5. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Hair : BBLUNT HD Curl | Curl Defining Leave-in Cream

I applied the HD Curl cream on damp hair and then used a curling iron to roughly add some curls, without worrying about the result being too perfect. I really like the end result, its a nice change from my usual sleek waves or straight hair. And I think it goes with the more natural vibe of my makeup as well. The curl cream gives it a lot of texture as well as hold.

I usually NEVER skip concealer but I did just this one time and the slight hint of darkness around the eyes gives the look a more real feel. I also skipped powder completely as I like the slightly dewy look of foundation. For the eyes, I kept it super simple with a wash of matte brown eye shadow all over the lid and finished out the look with 2 coats of mascara. I used the same eye shadow to fill in my brows.

For the cheeks, I used one of my favorite pink blushes; MAC Fleur Power, and paired it with Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color in the shade Red Berry. This lipstick has the creamiest, most hydrating formula and the color looks really rich and lovely! I applied it in a thin layer for a softer look but it can be layered for deeper color. And that’s the finished look!
