Hi everyone! Nykaa has recently launched their Matte nail polish range (Rs 199 each) consisting of 12 shades, most of which are a soft pastels. I’m sharing swatches of 9 of these shades in this post along with a quick review of the formula. I’ve recently tested the Revlon Matte Nail Enamels as well and in comparison, I find the Nykaa mattes a little more durable with better staying power. The consistency of most of the Nykaa shades is on the thicker side (with some exceptions) and most shades applied opaque in two coats. I had some trouble with the white (07 White Chocolate Ganache) and pale blue (18 Blueberry Macaron), which applied a little bit uneven, but the inconsistency was visible only close up. They did not take long to dry though with the thick formula, they aren’t the quickest drying nail paints either.
Overall, I really like these – from the formula to the shade selection and the price point as well. The dreamy, pastel palette fills out a big gap in the market and I think most of these colors look very polished and pretty on the hands. The finish is not 100% matte, its a soft gel matte finish. The wear time is about 4-5 days after which the finish becomes a bit dull and the tips begin to wear but these can easily be stretched to a week, provided you don’t do to much physical work. I think a clear matte top coat to enhance the wear time of these would have been a nice addition to the range!
My personal favorites out of these are Almond Crumble, Smores Milkshake and Blueberry Frosting! There are 3 more shades in this range, darker colors, which I would review soon!
Which of these would you like to try out? You can buy these online at Nykaa.com.
