Revlon Matte Nail Enamel - Flaming Matte

Revlon Matte Nail Enamel – Flaming Matte

Hi everyone! Revlon recently launched their matte nail paints (Rs 190 each) and I received 3 gorgeous bright shades to try out. I love my matte lipsticks but I wasn’t sure about matte nail colors but I’m happy to report, I really like how these looks on my nails. The formula has medium consistency, goes near opaque in two coats, dries quite quickly and has a gel matte finish. These aren’t flat mattes but I really like the cushioned gel matte look. Because of the matte finish, the colors look quite intense and I love the polished velvety look.

Where these disappoint though is the wear time. The smooth velvet look lasts only about 2-3 days after which they get a little dull and begin to chip at the tips. I do a fair bit of house work and tend to wash my hands several times a day, especially with the new puppy around. I feel these definitely need a top coat to make them last, and to preserve the matte finish, one would need a matte top coat. That being said, the colors are very pretty and these are not heavy on the pocket so if you don’t mind the low durability, you could give these a try!

Despite the downsides, I love the colors, especially the shade Crimson Matte which has been a favourite since the day I got these. Its a deep raspberry pink which looks gorgeous in its fresh, velvety finish. It applies a little unevenly sometimes though so be careful to apply it in a still room otherwise it begins to dry too quickly and gets uneven. Hot Matte is a rich, cool toned red – another beautiful color, while Flaming Matte is a pretty perky orange. I really like the Colorstay nail color from Revlon as its super long lasting and had they done mattes in that formula, I would have picked the whole range without a second thought!

I believe that Matte nail paints does not have good staying powder. I tried Zoya matte nail paints and Nykaa ones as well, both have poor wear time. They chip very easily 🙁

    Hi Ankita,

Following you for a quiet long time now, and love all makeup tutorials.
Just one request if you can upload video for nude makeup including products which are easily available in India. Also from where i can find make up geek products really love their eyeshadow collections.

    Waiting for requested video.

    Thanks,
    Shradha
