Hi everyone! Today I’m reviewing the Clinique Age Defence BB Cream, which has become a staple in my current everyday makeup routine. The BB cream comes in a tube packaging which I find quite sleek, convenient and travel-friendly. The cream has a slightly thick texture but blends nicely into the skin to give light coverage that evens out the skin without looking too heavy. A little goes a long way, and I like using a thick, dense brush like the Kabuki brush from The Body Shop or a damp sponge to apply this. It makes my acne spots and areas of redness look a little more even but doesn’t camouflage too much, retaining the natural look of skin. It has a soft satin finish, which is why it fares quite well on my oily skin. I do need a powder blot after about 4-5 hours post application which I find quite manageable. It doesn’t oxidise on my skin and keeps the skin looking fairly fresh even after 8 hours of wear. Overall, I am extremely happy as it works super well for my skin, giving it just the right amount of coverage and the perfect velvety finish. I think this is an excellent option for a daily wear base for people with normal to oily skin and I would definitely recommend it!

Like all Clinique products, this has no fragrance and is allergy-tested. It also contains anti-oxidants for anti-ageing benefits though I can’t say I have noticed any improvements in my skin on account of this cream. It also gives SPF 30 protection along with UVA protection so if you’re not going to be in the sun for a long time, you could skip sunscreen when using this. The only drawback I can think of is the limited shade range. I use 03 which is a neutral color which matches me very well. There are 2 lighter colors in this range and one deeper color which would work for deep skin tones. The shades don’t have a lot of yellow in them so people with very warm complexions might struggle to find the right shade.

But if you have normal to oily or combination skin and would like something light for day-to-day wear, do check out the Clinique BB cream!

Love that it has SPF 30 but not sure if this will be suitable for dry skin.

Pricey for 40 ml. Don’t think it will last long, if used everyday.

Ankita I was an ardent follower of your blog because somewhere on your blog I read initially that all the reviews are honest and are done for the products which are bought from your own pocket. However, since last few months, I have started noticing that you are now mostly reviewing sponsored products via Nykaa, Clarins, etc.

I’m sure except for the bloggers who get samples/products free of cost for reviewing, a normal girl like me,with an oily acne prone skin would never go for such an exorbitant product. I would rather visit a dermatologist or buy a medicated product.

You have a knack of writing sincere reviews therefore, please don’t make this blog a fancy expensive place. Girls like me are not interested in reading reviews about MAC, Bobby Brown, Clinique, Lancome, etc.

Please take my comments in your stride & keep this place real!!

I like using BB cream because they don’t give high coverage and look quite natural. This one seems like a good option for my oily skin. I can hide the acne spots with concealer anyway. Thanks for sharing your experience.
