Hi everyone! MAC has recently launched the Vibe Tribe collection in India. The collection is inspired by the sandy golden hues of the desert with splashes of coral, red and teal. The packaging is gorgeous and the powders in particular look like collectible pieces for die-hard MAC fans! Here’s a look at the bronzer, the Gleamtones powder and a nude lipstick from this collection.
MAC Vibe Tribe Collection “Dunes at Dusk” Gleamtones Powder (Rs 2600)
The Gleamtones powder comes in a beautiful compact and contains 4 shades of soft highlighting colors – a soft cool gold, a radiant peach, a lavender pink and a soft dusty plum. The texture of these powders is very refined and they add a soft pearly sheen on the skin. You can swirl all the shades together or use individual shades. I like the subtle radiance they add to the skin and the color variation is quite nice. Its like having a highlighter palette with 4 different tones. I don’t particularly love the pink and plum tones by themselves on my skin (they feel too cool toned and clash with my warm-leaning complexion) but all of them mixed together work well! I’ve swatched them individually below.
MAC Vibe Tribe Collection “Refined Golden” Bronzer (Rs 2300)
The Refined Golden Bronzer would be a very good contouring and bronzing powder for medium complexions. The powder is finely milled, not dusty and gives buildable color on the skin. It has a satiny matte finish and its not too orange which is why I think this is quite nice for contouring for warm Indian complexions. This is also available in the permanent range but if you like the limited edition packaging, you could go for this instead.
MAC Vibe Tribe Collection “Arrowhead” Lipstick
Arrowhead is a pale nude color that would work best on pale complexions. It has a satin smooth formula and good color pay off but the color is just too pale for my medium skin tone and washes me out completely. While I loved the powders mentioned above from this collection, this piece just doesn’t work on its own for me and the best way to use it is by mixing it with other colors. This would work really well in lightening deeper or brighter color to a softer, paler tone. The packaging however, is beautiful! The other shades in the range are prettier and more suitable for Indian complexions so do have a look at the whole collection before deciding.
Apart from the products above, I was quite drawn to the 4x eye shadow palettes (neutrals + pop of teal), the coral-y red lip colors (in lipstick and Patent Lip Polish formula) and Modern Mandarin Blush (part of permanent collection as well). The color palette of sunny bronzers, pop of coral for lips & cheeks and teal hues for the eyes is the perfect combination for a gorgeous summer collection. And these shades work fabulously on Indian complexions as well! This collection is in stores now so if anything catches your fancy, do check it out at your nearest MAC counter.
