Deborah Milano | Review & FOTD

Hi everyone! Today I’m reviewing some products from Deborah Milano which I’ve been trying out since the past few days. Its been some time since I tried any new products from this brand. I’ve really liked using their lipsticks and nail polishes in the past and you might remember some of my previous reviews.

This time, I decided to go for their Milano Red lipsticks along with the Smoky Eye Palette in Bronze, all very classic colors. And here’s my review –

Deborah Milano : Milano Red Lipstick (Rs 695 each)

These lipsticks come in an elegant gold colored tube and the lipstick bullet has the brand logo engraved on the side. These lipsticks are very creamy, glide with ease on the lips and have a slightly glimmering, glossy finish. The color pay off is quite good and you get about medium opaque coverage in one swipe. These are enriched with oils and waxes from Jojoba, Mimosa and Sunflower which is evident in the very emollient and nourishing feel of these lipsticks. The formula is also enriched with micronized Ruby powder which adds a soft pearly sheen to all these colors. If you have dry lips, you would really like the texture and feel of these lipsticks. I tried out two nude shades from the range, hoping to find a shade that worked for me. Sadly, shade #1 was very pale for me but #17 didn’t wash me out too much. I think both these colors are best suited for light skin tones. Shade #13 is a creamy rich red which is quite nice for party wear and would work across skin tones. I also like this shade used as a stain for everyday wear and it gives a very nice pinkish red tint to the lips.

The lipsticks are very moisturizing but because of their very creamy texture, they might slip and slide around if you’re not very careful with the application and wear. Also, the staying power is a bit on the lower side as compared to matte or satin finish lipsticks. But if that is not an issue for you and you prefer more nourishing textures, you should give these a try!

Deborah Milano Bronze Smoky Eye Palette (Rs 850)

The Bronze Smoky Eye palette was a real surprise as I had not expected it to be so good! Most 3-5 eye shadow palettes among mid-range brands are somewhat disappointing and don’t have a very good texture and pigmentation but this palette scores in both aspects. The eye shadows are super soft, buttery smooth and have incredible color pay-off. The swatches below have been taken with just a single finger swipe and you can clearly see how well pigmented and smooth they are. What is even more amazing is that there are no duds in this palette. Each of the 5 colors are equally soft & pigmented and blend without any difficulty.

The color combination and the pearly/satin finishes are very flattering for Indian skin tones and you can do several different looks using these colors. They fared reasonably well on the eyes with no creasing up to 6 hours. For longer wear time, a primer would help. Overall, this is a fantastic palette for Indian complexions and my only criticism is that the long thin strips of color can make it a little difficult to pick up individual shades, unless you’re using really small brushes. Perhaps round or square pans would have been a little easier to use. Apart from this little glitch with the packaging, I’m really pleased with the quality of these eye shadows and would definitely recommend this palette!

I have tried only one lipstick from Deborah Milano and the way it burned my lips!!! They were red and so sore for days. Perhaps it was a defective batch but I decided not to use this brand.

Really loved the classic eye makeup which can be worn easily anywhere.

I might be drifting away from the topic but I have been searching for a good face highlighter from quite some time now,and is unable to find any.
I red lots of blogs already to look for the best one but many bloggers shy using the products on their face and showing them on camera so can’t actually figure out only with the swatches.
I have NYX liquid highlighter which I am not liking it much and find uneasy to use it. Can you please suggest few.
