Hi everyone! Today I’m reviewing the Roots Professional Morocvita Oil which is a light, nourishing serum for the hair. I’ve been trying out some heat styling tools from Roots and thought I’d give the serum a try as well. Price : Rs 2000, currently available for Rs 1399 at Nykaa.com.
The serum comes in a thick glass bottle with a screw on cap. I was sent a sample for review and this bottle did not come with a pump dispenser but I’ve seen the packaging with the pump on retail websites. The pump would definitely make it much easier to use.
The serum has a thick, oil-like consistency but it feels non-greasy on the hair. It might seem like an oil because of the look and feel but its a silicone based serum which is why it has such a light and non-greasy effect on the hair. It smoothens dry and dull hair, adds a nice shine and works as a heat protectant as well. The majority of the product is composed of smoothing and volatile silicones that instantly condition and soften without adding heaviness to the hair. It also contains some amount of Argan Oil which is known to be very nourishing and beneficial for hair. I like to apply this along the lengths of my hair right after a shower or before heat styling and it works nicely as a prepping and smoothening product. I like the mild nutty scent and it works well in taming down frizz. To me, this feels like something of a cross between a regular serum and a nourishing oil. It packs some benefits of a nutritious oil and the ease of application & lightness of a silicone serum. At its discounted price, I think its a pretty good buy and the quantity is generous too.
If you have dry/frizzy hair or are looking for a light, heat protectant serum, you could give this a try! Its currently available at 30% off at Nykaa.com.
And while we’re on the subject of Roots products, I also tried out the Wotta Brush which is a nice and sturdy paddle brush for brushing the hair. The bristles are soft and flexible and it brushes through tangles without difficulty. What I also like is the sturdy black base, which is well glued to the body of the brush. I had tried a Kent paddle brush previously which didn’t hold well but this one is quite well constructed and sturdy. The original price is Rs 395, currently at 25% off at Nykaa.com.
