Sugar Vivid Lipstick Breaking Bare : Swatch, Review, FOTD [New Launch]

Hi everyone!

Today I’m reviewing the newly launched Sugar Vivid Matte Lipstick in the shade Breaking Bare. I wore this shade recently in my Quick Makeup for Work video and many of you were curious about the formula. Previously, I’ve reviewed the Sugar Matte as Hell crayons here. Sugar Cosmetics is an Indian brand and it comes from the creators of the Fab Bag (Vellvette Lifestyle).

Price : Rs 599 for 3.5 g

Available online at SugarCosmetics.com.

Sugar Vivid Matte Lipstick – Breaking Bare : Review

The lipstick comes in a rectangular tube with a matte finish and has the brand and shade name printed on it. It houses a flat, slanted tip lipstick bullet inside. The lipstick is neither too creamy nor too dry and feels like a gel-matte formula as opposed to the creamy matte feel of the Sugar Matte as Hell crayons. Its not loaded with silicones so it doesn’t have that slip. Because of that, it might not seem very soft or creamy at first but it doesn’t tug on the lips during application. I actually like this kind of texture because overly creamy lipsticks can deposit excess product on the lips, which this one doesn’t. It gives medium color in single swipe which can be built up to full coverage in another swipe. The finish is matte but not dry so doesn’t emphasize lip lines and feels very comfortable to wear. It has a little sheen when freshly applied but settles to a true matte. It feels mildly moisturising and doesn’t cling to any dry bits which is always a great quality in a matte lipstick!

I’m very pleased with the wear time of this lipstick. The shade Breaking Bare which is a dusty rose shade wears about 5 hours on me after which is begins to fade. It stays comfortable throughout its wear and doesn’t settle into lip lines. I would highly recommend this shade to everyone, particularly medium-deep skin tones. Its the perfect everyday pink for Indian skin that adds just the right amount of color to the face!

Overall, its a fantastic lipstick and I love the long-wearing & light-weight gel matte formula. The range has only 4 shades at the moment and I really hope they expand the range because the formulation and price point is great. I would be reviewing the other 3 shades shortly so stay tuned!

  4. Breaking Bare gives similar colour like Lakme Absolut Sculpt Matte Mauve Fix..plus its not drying like Lakme, which makes my lips dry after 2-3 hours..Love it!

  5. Hi,

    Greetings!

Which shade in Sugar lip crayon/matte/liquid lipstick suits best for dark skin?

Most of the beauty vlogs/blogs targets only on fair/wheatish skin people. Effort will be much appreciated if beauty vloggers/bloggers/reviewers try to think out of box, proving they have done a thorough analysis on products that works on different skin tones.

    Thanks in advance!
