    Hi Ankita
Winters are back and so is the need for keeping our skin optimised. I am combination skin type girl. Besides following a routine CTM and sunscreen(equally important in Winters as well) I totally swear by this pack of 1/2 spoon oats milk and water soaked for sometime,to be applied for good 15 min, massaging well into skin and washing off with cold water…it leaves your skin exfoliated but at the same time hydrates and makes it plump; helps in clearing acne too.
Also keep your body hydrated .That's my secret wch has worked wonders for me this winters.

    Hi.. My secret tips are:
    1) I don’t use soaps during winter. Bcoz they will cause dryness to the skin. So I use moisturizing cleansers and bars.
    2) Applying Aloe-Vera gel on face does wonders. First take out the gel from the plant and apply it over the face and leave it for 30 mins. It acts keeps moisture level as well as protects skin from impurities. Keeps skin soft during winter season.
    3) Papaya face mask is very good for dry skin during winter. Take a ripe papaya and mash them well. Apply the paste all over the face including lip and neck too. While removing the pack just scrub the pack and rinse it off with cold water. It helps regenerate skin cells and rejuvenate skin.
    Thank you for the giveaway.

    Hey guys..!

The secret behind a glowing skin is to keep ur body purified from the inside. So sweat it out, have green tea and also consume a lot of curd or buttermilk as it has good bacteria that’s great for ur stomach. The more clean and purified your stomach, the better results will be reflected on your face.

P.S Mix a spoon of thick curd, milk cream, besan, homemade almond powder and dried orange peel powder into a paste, apply on ur face and wait till it dries, wash off with water and pat dry.!

  52. January 26, 2016 / 2:18 pm

    Hi Ankita,
    Thanks for the Giveaway

In winters I generally use cream based products which does not create too much foam. This helps my skin to maintain its natural oil and dryness and hence imparts a healthy glow.

Also every morning I drink warm water with half a lemon juice which provides the necessary vitamin C boost to my body from within.

“A Secret Tip that makes your skin Glow”
Well this isn’t exactly a secret but it does work beautifully on my combination acne prone skin.

A while ago, I started using Multani Mitti Ubtan with Rosewater (the regular drugstore kind) but in your Delhi Makeup basics workshop you mentioned how it will be better to use tomato juice, lemon juice or distilled rose water. And that has made a world of difference !

Now I use this religiously and my skin is happier for it.

It is important to have ample amounts of sleep to retain your glow.

It is a good idea to cleanse your hair every alternate day and have a nice pore-cleaning steam bath to keep the skin clear.

Another tip , that works like a charm , is to moisturise your skin with a Vitamin C serum and a rich night cream before going to bed. The next day , just wash your face with some milk cream with rose petals marinated in it overnight , and voila you get the best glow ever. To preserve this glow , I would suggest the Olay natural white daily cream with spf (which I use regularly even on my combi skin) and some strobing cream. ^_^ I would love to wint his hamper – it looks like it can really improve the texture and health of the skin. Olay has always been a trusted brand in the family , ever since Oil of Olay was brought in by relatives staying abroad ^_^.

Shared the giveaway link at facebook and twitter as well… my another tip for glowing skin in winters—- in winters we take quick bath to avoid illness and regular soap application is not possible.. and Moisturizing is must for my dry skin… so its better to scrub/ ex-foliate the body skin once/twice in a week… for that i don't use any branded body scrub.. i take 1 spoon of Nescafe Coffee powder, fine sugar, 1/2 spoon salt, oatmeal flour/ corn flour , olive oil/ sesame oil, milk cream.. this DIY body scrub/ exfoliator is easy on pocket and works so beautifully on my dry skin… results are best and you will stop buying any branded body scrub after trying this… Coffee keeps the skin fresh and energetic, sugar polishes, salt prevents body acne issues, oatmeal/ corn flour works as the soft scrub particles and makes the thick base, oilve/ sesame oil moisturizes the skin, milk cream makes the creamy buttery scrub… Hope you like my winter skin care tips for glowing skin…

“A Secret Tip that makes your skin Glow” in the winter season.
With the onset of winters and blow of chilled winds women usually feel that their skin is getting dry, flaky and the tenderness of the skin is getting lost. Maintaining the glow of the skin during winters is very essential. To combat winter skin problems and to maintain it perfectly flawless and glowing I adhere to which are-
    1) People usually avoid drinking water as a result, skin loses its shine. I drink as much water as I can and in fact I start my day with drinking water. This will also help in flushing the toxic substances from the body.
    2) Instead of using very hot water I try using Luke warm water. This keeps the skin moisturised.
    3) Cleansing skin is necessary, I tend to use a good cleanser to face wash my face instead of soap.
    4) Give my skin a good gentle scrub which removes all dead skin.
    5) I never forget to use moisturiser daily, I preferably use oil based moisturiser.
    6) Whenever I go outside I try protecting my skin with a good sunscreen and do cover it with scarf and gloves.
    7) And I remove all make up and do moisturise skin at night before going to sleeping as well.
With all of these I also apply homemade hydrating mask for glowing skin during winters, which is Avocado and Olive oil mask (Take the ripe avocado and separate the seed from avocado then mesh the avocado with the spoon make the fine smooth paste. Add the 1 tbsp of olive oil to the avocado paste. Apply this paste all over the face evenly. Dried it for 10 -15 minutes then rinse it off with the cool water. Avocado is the rich source of the vitamin E, olive oil deeply penetrates with the skin pore which makes skin healthier).
These is a procedure for me starting from drinking water in morning to applying moisturiser before sleeping and applying face mask for a glowing skin and lustrous skin.

my winter skincare tip for that extra glow is to steam the face every 10-15 days and then follow it up with a grounded almonds scrub mixed with raw milk. this helps to get rid of dryness and dead skin cells as well and also keep the skin healthy and glowing.

winters wreak havoc on all kinds of skins, oily, dry and normal…depriving them of the hydration and glow, the dipping mercury relentlessly torments the epidermis, making it flaky, dull and crying for moisture.

inorder to bravely face the ordeal, i use the time tested arsenal of home remedies. for my facewash, its just the application of honey for a minute and rinsing off. it clears off skin like nothing without making it flaky or oily.its perfect for almost all skin types. if someone has allergy to honey then raw milk(for normal/dry skin) boiled milk (oily) ,3-4 drops of lemon, pinch of salt shud be applied on face.leave it for a minute or so. if you have time,u can massage and u would see all the dirt and grime scrubbed off right there ,if u are in a hurry, wash off and get a squeaky clean well moisturised face. lemon helps in bleaching ,milk moisturising, salt in cutting across the dirt molecules and dissolving them.

for toner- i use rose water with a bit of kapoor mixed in it,for normal to dry skin. green tea concoction and mint leaves in it for oily skin.

moisturiser- i use a drop of sweet almond oil along with a drop of lavender oil and voila,i have a perfect glowing face. almond oil is extremely rich in vitamin E ,moisturises skin like nothing , has tonnes of anti aging effects and lavender oil helps in fighting off acne, blemishes, tonnes of anti aging, helps in skin firmness and ethereal smell.

top it up with a sunscreen of your choice and you are good to go.

on weekends, i make a face pack of multani mitti, lemon, glycerine, tulsi leaves, neem leaves, rose water, turmeric and kapoor. it takes care of blackheads/white heads, acne outbreaks, moisturises skin, is an extremely effective whitening and glowing treatment, provides firmness to skin , fights off wrinkles and takes away all dullness, grime, dirt and impurities of the entire week. it gives the feel of a very expensive facial done at an exclusive spa.

for nights- i make simple serum by mixing glycerine, lemon, rose water, aloe vera gel, clove oil ,vitamin E capsules. dry skinned /normal skin can add a drop of olive oil to it. this serum is my holy grail. glycerine helps in moisturising, lemon in cleaning, bleaching, rose water in toning, moisturising, aloe vera in moisturising, anti aging, acne fighting, anti blemish , clove oil is an extremely potent skin firming agent, fights off all bacteria, regenerates skin and vitamin E is a boon for skin. the goodness of all these ingredients is there to see in a night itself. it repairs, rejuvenates skin tortured by cold winds and impart a permanent glow to skin.

i also do deep oil treatment for skin. castor oil, olive oil, almond oil ,vitamin e capsules are mixed and warmed. dip cotton pads and cover your face. feel till it gets absorbed in ur skin. u would practically feel impurities dissolving in the oil mix. after it cools down, take a wash cloth and dip in hot water and cover your face, making sure you dont burn self. and when it cools down, gently wipe off the oils. u would see all blackheads gone, entire dirt and grime wiped off,no traces of extra oil and u would see a new you. its as effective for oily skinned ppl as for normal and dry. if u feel excess oily, a pinch of gram flour and rinse your face with it. plain and simple. this is one of the best treatments that i have ever come across.

i occasionally use clarins lotus oil at night but its mostly outta stock,so i had to come up with an alternate.

with these tips up my sleeves, i never worry for winters to knock my doors…rather i warm heartedly welcome the mist and the fog with dreamy eyes with a naturally blushed skin!
