The Body Shop Oils of Life Revitalising Facial Oil – Review

I love using Facial Oils and when I received samples from the Oils of Life range from The Body Shop, the Facial Oil was the first product I tested out! The oil comes in an amber colored glass bottle with a dropper for dispensing the product. The packaging may seem a little delicate but the cap closes tightly and its safe to travel with.

The oil feels lightweight, has a mild earthy fragrance and absorbs well into my skin. I’ve been facing a bit of dryness this winter, mostly on my cheeks and using this helps in getting rid of the dry patches. The oil is light enough to be used in the day time as well and I generally like to mix 1-2 drops of this in my moisturizer in the morning. For the evenings, I apply 2-3 drops of the oil directly to my face and within a minute or so, it completely sinks in. It is a common myth that people with oily skin should not use facial oils but in my experience and from what clinical research says, certain oils are excellent for oily skin and help balance the sebum production. This is perhaps the most lightweight and non-greasy facial oil I’ve ever tried and I think it would work for all skin types.

This is a plant-based oil with the chief ingredients being olive oil and a derivative of coconut oil. It also contains the 3 special oils that are unique to the Oils of Life range – Black Cumin seed oil from Egypt, Camellia seed oil from China and Rosehip seed oil from Chile. As far as the claims go, this does a great job of hydrating my combination, dehydrated skin. It adds a soft healthy glow to my face and it feels lightweight and delicate enough to use twice a day. It is non-sticky, 99% of plant origin and gives a velvety finish to the skin. Another great thing about this is that it does not aggravate my breakouts. It claims to visibly reduce signs of ageing and as far as my skin goes, it definitely feels hydrated, soft and smooth with regular use of this oil. I love the fact that it instantly addresses dryness without greasiness and is light enough to be used as serum.

Overall, I’m really happy with the Oils of Life Revitalising Facial Oil and it has become a staple in my current skincare routine. Its a light, quick absorbing oil that hydrates the skin and adds a soft radiance within a a few days of use. It did not aggravate my breakouts and is light enough to be used in the day time as well if you’re facing dryness issues. Recommended!

Hi, you can use a few drops of it mixed with your moisturizer in the night or use it before moisturizer like you could use a serum. I haven’t had any problems using it when have 1-2 breakouts if the acne situation is severe, stick to oil-free, acne-targeted products till the breakouts subside. You can definitely do a light, gentle massage with it. Check the YouTube channel for The Body Shop, they have some videos on how to use the facial oil for massage.
