Today I’m reviewing the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara which I picked up a couple of weeks back. Its been a while since I tried a high end mascara and having heard a lot about the EL mascaras, I decided to give the Sumptuous Extreme a try.

Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara : Review
The mascara comes in a luxurious gold tube with the signature deep blue accents of Estee Lauder branding on the tube. I love the look of the packaging! The wand has a tapering shape and has densely packed fibre bristles. Its not a very thick wand which makes it easy to use. You don’t get smudges on the skin because of the slim shape of the wand.
The mascara has a mousse-like texture, its not a very wet formula so it doesn’t take long to try. The wand grabs the lashes well and coats them richly. It doesn’t add extraordinary length but it thickens the lashes really well. It doesn’t clump unless you try to put on too many layers. The formula envelopes the lashes beautifully, adding volume but doesn’t weigh the lashes down or make them stiff/crunchy. In terms of drama, its quite dramatic though not as crazy as the Japanese Heroine mascaras I love! It adds a nice lift and holds curl fairly well. Its not 100% waterproof but it doesn’t smudge or melt during the day and comes off easily with an oil based remover when I take it off.
I LOVE this mascara and had it not been for the hefty price tag, I would have repurchased it! Mascaras need to be tossed out in under 6 months so it feels a tad wasteful to spend so much on a mascara!
