10 Beauty Picks from Great Indian Diwali Sale!

Hey everyone!

Diwali is just around the corner and its raining sales everywhere! I spotted a couple of great products on discount in the Great Amazon Diwali Sale and though I’d do a quick post sharing these with you. While I was choosing the products, I ended up picking a LOT of Lakme products and thought I’d do a separate post for Lakme (like I’d done for Maybelline and L’Oreal Paris in the past). So do stay tuned for the next post about my Lakme picks from the sales.

Meanwhile, lets talk about some amazing makeup and skin care in this post –

L'Oreal Moist Mat lipstick Flaming Kiss

1. L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte Lip Color – Flaming Kiss  Rs 925 Rs 709

The Moist matte lipsticks from L’Oreal Paris are one of the best lipsticks among mid range brands and my favorite shade is Flaming Kiss. Its a warm red that looks amazing on Indian skin and would be perfect to pair with any warm toned eye shadow for festive looks! The formula is creamy, pigmented and doesn’t dry out the lips.

2. Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick – Pretty Please Rs 299 Rs 264

This is a recent discovery and one that I absolutely love! Pretty Please is a rich deep peach color which you will be seeing my next tutorial. Its a very flattering peach for medium and dusky girls. The lipstick has great color pay off, a comfortable matte finish and is very pocket friendly as well.

3. L’Oreal Paris Collection Star Lipstick – Pure Amaranthe  Rs 995 Rs 796

You might recall this from my recent Pink Lipstick video and a festive tutorial prior to that. Pure Amaranthe is a rich, deep fuchsia that looks amazing on everyone! Once again, the L’Oreal Paris lipstick formula is faultless – its soft and creamy, pigmented and stays well without drying the lips. A must-have for the festive season!

4. Faces Eye Pencil – Solid Black Rs 349 Rs 321

If you’re looking for a long wearing liner for the upper lash line, this Faces eye pencil is a solid pick! The gel based liner is soft and creamy, has an excellent color pay off and is water proof and smudge proof. It stays put the whole day and the price point makes it quite attractive!

5. Maybelline The Colossal Liner  Rs 425 Rs 361

If you’re into winged eye liner like I am, the Maybelline Colossal Liner is a must-have! The felt tip makes flicks and wings really easy and the formula is great too! Its a rich enough black color which stays quite well on me though its not waterproof. You might remember seeing this in several of my tutorials where I do winged liner. I would definitely count this as one of my all-time favorite makeup products!

6. Synthetic Makeup Brush Set  Rs 1350 Rs 1050

I picked up this brush set because I needed some extra brushes for my workshop sessions and its one of the best budget buys I’ve ever made! The set contains 5 foundation buffing brushes and 5 smaller brushes that are excellent for concealer and other cream products. The quality of these brushes is amazing! They are dense, soft and the bristles don’t shed on washing. Highly recommend these!

7. Revlon Highlighting Palette – Bronze Glow  Rs 995 Rs 925

Another product which would make it to my all-time favorites list! This palette contains 5 strips of coordinating warm bronzy shades and its an amazing blush for the festive season. You just need to swirl a fluffy brush in the pan and use it where you’d normally apply blush. The toasty shades and fine shimmer give the most gorgeous warm glow to the skin!

8. Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash  Rs 499 Rs 299

Coming to skincare, I spotted the Neutrogena Oil-free acne wash at a pretty good discount and I had to share. This is an amazing wash for people with oily or acne prone skin. Its gel based so it doesn’t dry out the skin and contains salicylic acid which helps against breakouts. I’ve gone through several bottles of this during college when I had more breakouts and I think its a great alternative for pricier washes like the Avene Cleanance Wash. If you don’t have breakouts, you could check out the Neutrogena Deep Clean Wash which is also gel based and a great pick for all skin types.

9. Bio-Oil  Rs 450 Rs 360

Bio Oil is the new sensation that everyone has been talking about and I couldn’t resist trying it out. It comes in a small bottle and while I haven’t been brave enough to try it out my face (my skin has been sensitive lately), I love it for the body. I use it on damp skin after a shower and it makes my skin super soft and keeps it hydrated throughout the day. The consistency and feel of the oil is very light and it doesn’t make the skin greasy at all. I’ve also heard that its great for preventing stretch marks so if you’re expecting, do incorporate this in your routine for your growing tummy.

10. Olay Total Effects 7-In-1 Anti Aging Night Cream  Rs 779 Rs 775

The last pick from the sale is the Olay Night cream from the Total Effects range. I’m using this since a few months and its amazing if you want something hydrating with a little preventative anti-ageing action. It contains Niacinamide, a potent ingredient that helps in the cell renewal process apart from Vitamin C and Vitamin E. The light cream absorbs nicely into the skin and you wake up with hydrated, fresh, plumped up skin. I think Olay makes fabulous creams and I would recommend this to everyone!

p.s – the price of this product fluctuated so much while I was composing this post. It went from 699 to 775 in a few minutes. I’m hoping it stays on discount till I publish this post!

Hi Ankita! Can you do a review for the synthetic makeup brush set? I’d love to learn for what all purposes the different brushes can be used, especially the smaller ones 🙂
