L’oreal Paris Infallible 24H Powder Foundation Review

The powder foundation comes in a rectangular compact with a sponge and mirror housed in a separate compartment under the powder. As far as texture goes, the powder is soft and silky without being too loose or powdery. It feels smooth and fine to touch. You can use it with a brush for lightly setting foundation or concealer or use it with a sponge to get more coverage. It gives light-medium coverage when used with a sponge that helps even out the skin to some extent. It won’t cover up discoloration or blemishes though. I like the finish of the powder, it doesn’t look cakey and heavy on the skin and gives a soft matte finish.

Coming to the downsides, it doesn’t have very good oil control. My skin starts to get shiny in about 2-3 hours which isn’t great at all. The second major issue for me is the poor shade selection. I chose the shade 225 Beige which seemed like the 2nd darkest out of the 4 shades but its a bit light for me. As a result, it begins to look ashy if I use it with a sponge and I can only use it very lightly under the eyes and around the nose/mouth to set my liquid foundation or concealer.

I would recommend this to ladies who have normal to dry or combination skin and need something light weight and easy to use for daily wear. Do try the shades at the counter before purchasing though because the selection is limited and online swatches could be misleading!

Rating : 2.5/5

It's quite disappointing for a product from a brand like this.

This might suit my combination dry skin in winters, but the limited shade selection is a drawback

Nice review Ankita, I was thinking of getting this one, but now will not.
Powder foundations are never suited me, it made my skin somehow look dark. Could you please suggest me a good blotting powder easily available in Indian market to soak up the excess oil production

I am yet to try a powder foundation that works. I have tried a couple of these, and all of them were disasters! Have heard good things about MAC Studio Fix though, yet to try it.

Ughhh.. I have heard some great things about the foundation but this doesn’t sound as stellar as that.

Shade problem is always with L’Oreal!
    That’s why I prefer Revlon.

i am not powder person and never found myself comfortable with compacts…everytime i found them making me look ashy/dark. I prefer dewy look.

This is the best thing in my collection. I just use this over my normal moisturizer and it makes my face instantly look brighter and fresh and keeps so full day long. I was bit skeptical while paying 1400 for this powder foundation but never regretted since then. It is awesome
