This is my first post here at Corallista and having been an ardent follower of this blog for years, I’m quite excited to be able to contribute to it today, all thanks to Ankita 🙂 Coming to the topic of discussion today, I’ll be reviewing the NYX Round Lipstick in the shade Fig. NYX Round Lipsticks need no introduction and are quite a popular drugstore option especially because of their affordability and a wide selection of shades. And while the shade selection ranges from nudes to bright and bold shades, I’ll be reviewing a beautiful everyday-wear pink shade. So without further ado, let’s get to the review.
Product Description : NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick is our classic lipstick for all occasions. The mineral-based emollient formula offers a beautiful velvet texture, saturated color and it resists wear and smudging. It’s your go-to lipstick. From Pure Nude to Pink Lyric to Chic Red, Round Lipstick is available in a jaw-dropping variety of shades.

NYX Round Lipstick Fig Review
As their name suggests, NYX Round Lipsticks come in a round, black plastic packaging. They have a transparent bottom for easy identification of shades if you have more than one of them. The plastic packaging does feel a tad bit flimsy but for the price, one cannot complain! On to the actual product, the texture of this lipstick is very creamy and somewhat on the oilier side. Inspite of being creamy, the formula is not very hydrating and after a few hours of wear, it tends to slightly dry out the lips. The lipstick glides on the lips very smoothly, infact the only problem being its extra smoothness/slipperiness. Because of this slippery texture, it tends to transfer a lot onto anything you eat or drink. This particular shade stays on my lips for about 3-3.5 hours with very light snacks/drinks in between, after which it leaves a very light tint on the lips. It does not survive a meal. I prefer wearing this lipstick in the winters as opposed to the summers, mostly because its formula tends to ‘melt’ in the summer heat.
It takes about 2-3 swipes to make this shade fully opaque. NYX describes this shade as a dark neutral pink. On my lips, it looks like an everyday wear pastel pink with a slightly cool undertone and has a glossy finish. I feel this shade will suit anyone near to or lighter than my skintone (NC 30/35 in MAC). On deeper skintones, it might wash out the face.
Overall Thoughts : NYX Round Lipstick in Fig is a beautiful everyday wear pastel pink shade. It does not stay on for too long but the wear-time can be extended with a lip liner underneath. The lipstick goes on very smoothly and will be quite flattering on girls with fair to medium complexions. Although not the best formula I’ve tried, it is a good affordable drugstore option if you stay in the U.S or purchase it from international shopping websites.

The color looks great for everyday wear for light to medium skin! And it looks really pretty on you Komal! I have had the same experience with this formula – its super creamy but not as hydrating and creases and transfers. But the color range and price make these quite irresistible!
