Inglot 421 Matte Lipstick Review
The lipstick comes in the standard Inglot packaging – a sturdy black casing with the brand logo on the cover. The lipstick has the classic pointed bullet shape which I prefer over flat cylindrical bullet shapes that have become quite common these days. The lipstick is a true matte and has a slightly dry texture. I’d say the the texture is similar to MAC Retro Matte lipsticks. The color pay off is good but there is a bit of tugging involved during application, especially if you have somewhat dry lips. I absolutely do not recommend using this if you have flaky lips. Clean, smooth lips are a must, otherwise the dry texture of this lipstick just emphasises dry lips. The bright bluish matte pink color is really flattering on Indian skin in my opinion and quite lovely for the summer. Because the lipstick is a bit dry, it hardly transfers and wears really well for over 5 hours on my lips leaving a stain behind. It does however, dry my lips out somewhat and doesn’t feel super comfortable after a few hours. It also gets a little patchy as it fades but you can fix that by just using your finger to pat the color evenly on the lips.
Overall, the Inglot 421 Matte lipstick has its merits : great vibrant pink color, true matte finish and a long wear time. But the formula is slightly dry and not as comfortable as I would like. Its not unworkable though but if you have severely dry or chapped lips, I wouldn’t recommend this. As far as matte lipsticks go, I think I prefer the Lakme Absolute Sculpt Matte Lipsticks and L’Oreal Paris Moist Matte lipsticks over the Inglot formula. MAC Mattes are also super comfortable while the MAC Retro Mattes lean slightly dry.

p.s – There was an earthquake in Tokyo a few minutes back. I dived under the table grabbing my phone as the alarms were going off on the phone. It was the biggest one I’ve felt in my 1.5 years here and the first time something actually broke (one of the mirrors fell). Glad I wasn’t in the bathroom taking a shower when it happened!
