Lakme Absolute Sculpt Studio Matte Lipstick REVIEW
These lipsticks come in a gunmetal grey packaging with a clear cap. The lipstick has a slanted, flat tip which adds to the modern look of the packaging though I personally prefer the traditional pointed bullet shape. The lipstick has a smooth texture and a true matte finish. These are not the creamiest lipsticks though – if you have dry, rough lips, these would not go on smoothly. They definitely look and perform best on smooth, moisturized lips. I wouldn’t say that they have a dry texture because they do feel quite smooth but a little prep is required when you wear a matte lipstick.
The color pay off is quite good – they give rich color without requiring much layering. But I noticed that these are not 100% opaque so if you have uneven lips, a bit of that may show through unless you layer the lipstick a couple of times. They feel quite comfortable without being too dry or overly creamy giving a really neat, matte finish. They fade very evenly so you’re not left a dark ring around your lips after a few hours. The wear time varies with the shade but on the whole, these are long wear lipsticks and all the colors wore at least 4-5 hours on lips with light meals in between (they don’t stain very much). For once, Lakme hasn’t gone overboard with the pricing too! These are definitely one of the really good, true matte lipsticks in the Indian market right now and if you like matte lip colors, these really deserve a place in your kit!

Pink Caress is a warm yellow-based pink that is super flattering on my medium complexion. This is my favorite color from the 3 shades I tested because it looks really fresh! The color brightens up my face and I see myself wearing this a lot during the summers especially in the day time. This is great color for daily wear for ladies who like pink lipsticks. The color doesn’t look as great on a bare face though so I would recommend using a light base to even out your skin when you wear this.
Plum Spell is a rich, plum-tinged red color. This is a lovely color for evening wear, parties etc. and I think its would be especially flattering on deeper complexions. I see myself wearing this more in the cooler months, its just that kind of color that you like reaching for on a cool day!
Tangerine Lush is a vibrant orange color that is perfect for the summer! The color is bright but not neon and quite wearable because of its blood orange tones (very yellow-y oranges are harder to carry). I think this is a great color for a summer bride!
Though I like all the 3 shades I’ve reviewed, my personal favorite is Pink Caress. So here’s one more with Pink Caress –
