April Skincare Haul

Hey everyone!

I recently bought some skincare items from the BeautyBay.com Spring sale and the Japanese Drugstore. Here’s a quick look at my skincare haul this month ~

Shiseido Perfect Cleansing Oil

Shiseido Perfect Cleansing Oil

Shiseido Perfect Cleansing Oil : JPY 655/$ 5.47/Rs 341

I recently finished up my MAC Cleanse Off oil and decided to check out some Japanese drugstore options. I’ve tried the much raved about DHC Cleansing Oil last year and while it was nice, I wanted to try out something else and this Shiseido Cleansing Oil caught my eye. Its easily available in drugstores around Japan for around 900 JPY but I got it at a discount from Amazon Japan. Tried it out last night and seems to clean quite well! Like the price point too!

Cure Natural Aqua Gel  : JPY 2700/$ 22.55/Rs 1400

This is a water based peeling gel and is supposed to be one of the best selling skin care products in Japan (1 piece sold every 12 seconds apparently!). I’ve never tried something like this before and its not exactly cheap but I hear about this literally everywhere so I had to try it out!

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads : £21.95/Rs 2000

I’ve been wanting to try chemical exfoliants for a while now and this one comes recommended from Caroline Hirons (do follow her for great skincare advice)! These weren’t super expensive so I picked these from BeautyBay.com during the spring sale. I’m very excited to try these out!

Embryolisse Nourishing Moisturizer : £9.83/Rs 896

This is the best moisturizer I’ve tried! It is very hydrating and the only moisturizer that keeps my skin hydrated all through the day. But what I love most about it is that how wonderful it is under foundation, it just makes my skin look flawless all day and gives the most clean and healthy finish to foundation! I had tried a sample of this in Glossybox and I bought this (2 x 30 ml tubes) from BeautyBay.com which had 20% off on Embryolisse and additional spring sale discounts.

Strangely the Facial Radiance Pads did not suit me, though the Liquid Gold did, even though the latter is apparently “stronger”.

Ohh too bad the radiance pads didn't suit you! Did you like Liquid Gold?

Yes I did! Can see it working on the acne spots, though i am being a bit cautious and using it once/ twice a week only.

I have heard great things from my Japanese friends about the Cure Natural Aqua Gel and would like to see your review about how they fare? Have you tried Biore Sarasara Uv Aqua Rich Waterly Essence Sunscreen & Sana Nameraka Isoflavone Soy Milk Moisturizing Cream as they also had some great reviews? Could you suggest any Japanese website that ships internationally? Sorry, I got super excited seeing the Cure Natural Aqua gel 🙂

Love FAB radiance pads! Be careful to store them for too long – I was using mine in conjunction with Pixi Glow Tonic and they dried out pretty quickly:(

    • April 15, 2015 / 7:04 pm

Ohh thanks for the heads up! Did you like the Pixi Glow Tonic?

Great haul Ankita! Embryolisse, that’s the only thing I have used in winters, and possibly the best.
These days I am using the fluid version of the same. Same ingredients, but a lot cheaper. Don’t know the catch but I like it 🙂

And a question, did you have to pay the custom duties on Beautybay?

    • April 15, 2015 / 2:52 pm

Hey Monika, summer is still a couple of months away here so I'll check it out when the weather warms up. Thanks! And no, I didn't have to pay any custom duties on BeautyBay.

Sorry to butt in on the conversation. I’ve ordered from them thrice and had to pay duty two times (am in Mumbai).

I am really excited for the review of Embryolisse moisturizer & shiseido cleansing oil review..
Last week i went to MAC & there i examined mineralise range & to check out the MAC cleanse oil i asked SA to try me out ,, i really liked the thin runny texture of oil but the price is too much for that quanity 2100 .. i can't spend 2100 on a makeup remover… so after coming to home i thought to use sweet almond oil instead of that & it worked perfectly for my extremely dry falky skin & removed my waterproof mascara too..

  17. April 16, 2015 / 1:44 pm

Excited & waiting for the review of Radiance pads and Aqua Gel..

  18. April 16, 2015 / 4:51 pm

Lovely haul Ankita! Please share your views on the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads as soon as you can, really looking forward to those. Have been following Caroline Hirons since quite some time now and I really love the way she explains the details of all the things skincare! 🙂
