Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Palette Review
The Revealed 3 palette comes in a cardboard packaging with a magnetic closure and 2 rows of 10 shadows each. The packaging isn’t luxe but feels sturdy and compact. I do wish it had a mirror though. The texture of most of the shadows is really smooth and silky though 2 of the shimmers are slightly drier than the rest. While I like the buttery texture, the shadows are a bit powdery so there is a bit of fallout in the pan and during application. The color pay off of most of the shadows is pretty good except 2 shadows which have so-so pigmentation (the right most shade in the first tow and the third shade from the left in the bottom row). Most of the dark shades are quite rich and nicely pigmented. What truly impresses me about this palette is the wear time of these shades. I get exceptional wear time (10+ hours) without a primer and that is really saying something. I have tested these with primer and without and you honestly do not need a primer because they do not crease or fade even without one.
Revealed 3 is mostly a cool toned palette with lots of purple and lavender tones. There are some warmer colors like a matte brown and a warm gold to balance things out. I like the deeper purples from the palette but the lighter shades look a bit ashy on my complexion. There is plenty of variety in the palette – mix of matte/shimmer shades and light to dark colors which gives room to create many different looks. I like the palette but I prefer Revealed 1 or 2 simply because the color palette in the previous palettes is more flattering for my warm coloring. I would recommend this to ladies to love lavender/purple shades or cooler eye shadows in general!
Overall, this palette is consistent with the quality and variety that I love about the previous Revealed palettes and its a great buy at $20. The Urban Decay Naked palettes aren’t easy on the pocket and you can get almost the same shades with the Revealed palettes at a much lesser price. You get 20 shades – nearly all of which have a really nice formula that wears great without the need of a primer. If I could improve something about the formula – I would like the texture to be a little less powdery and more firm. But apart from that, love the Revealed series!
