Burst of Happyness Deodorant Cream : Review

Hey everyone!

I was recently sent some products by Burst Of Happyness, a brand that makes wonderful vegan, natural, handmade bath and body products, and one of the first products I tried out was their Lavender & Grapefruit Deodorant Cream. Here are my thoughts on the product –

Price : Rs 480 for 50 g

Product claims :  A one of its kind natural deodorant cream which helps to eliminate body odour and inhibit bacterial growth.

Baking Soda has natural deodorizing qualities. Arrow Root Flour helps to absorb moisture. Jojoba oil has a non greasy texture  which resembles human sebum and helps to soften the skin. Cocoa Butter is rich in vit E and offers great moisturizing benefits. Coconut Oil has anti bacterial properties. Sunflower oil is a light oil which is easily absorbed and it offers anti inflammatory properties. Essential oils make sure that your pits smell good all day long!

This deodorant cream contains no water, therefore doesn’t need ANY chemicals to preserve, emulsify, thicken, etc. . It is all natural and free from aggressive chemicals like parabens, aluminium compounds, which are linked to various health issues.

Available in two scents

Cedarwood + Bergamot – A combination of musky, earthy mixed with citrus topped with a hint of Rosewood essential oil. It is a unisex fragrance.

Lavender & Grapefruit – A combination of floral fruity fragrance.

Burst of Happyness Deodorant Cream Review

The deodorant cream comes in a small tub packaging. The packaging isn’t the best – the finishing of the lid and the mouth of the jar isn’t very clean and has some jagged edges. I don’t mind that the packaging is simple, it would be nicer to have clean, smooth edges.

The cream itself has a dense, grainy texture (due to the baking soda) that melts when you rub it into your skin. It leaves a slightly powdery finish on the skin which initially bothered me but doesn’t anymore. But given a choice, I would have liked a smoother, finer consistency. It smells absolutely amazing – the combination of lavender and grapefruit is wonderfully refreshing and uplifting! The scent isn’t too strong but detectable for about 2-3 hours after I use this. I wish the scent lasted longer. I find myself reaching out for this again by evening just for the scent. It does a good job of deodorising – keeps body odor at bay throughout the day and even though the lavender/grapefruit scent is gone, your under arms don’t smell.

One of the best things about this is the excellent ingredient list – its all natural, vegan and handmade, not tested on animals and feels good on the skin. The scent is so clean and refreshing and it didn’t sting freshly shaved underarms which is one of my pet peeves when it comes to deodorants. (Though the website does say that Baking Soda might irritate freshly shaved/waxed skin). Overall, I really like this product and have been using it everyday. This is also available in another scent – Cedarwood and Bergamot, in case Lavender and Grapefruit isn’t your cup of tea. Recommended!

  1. I use their cleanser Just like Heaven, and I have to say it’s one of the sensitive dry skin; smells heavenly too! From a long time I have been thinking about buying this, now I can purchase without any doubt!

  2. I have been thinking of buying this for my son since he plays so much cricket, football and basketball, but was apprehensive because I didn’t want the baking soda to sting his delicate skin. Now I will surely get it for him 🙂
