MAC Cleanse Off Oil Review

The MAC Cleanse Off Oil comes in a clear plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. The pump can be twisted to a close position but it doesn’t firmly lock so I wouldn’t advise traveling with this. Packaging aside, I absolutely love this cleansing oil! The oil is very thin and light, has a pleasant refreshing scent (very mild) and emulsifies completely with water. I use 1 pump of this all over the face, massaging my cheeks and neck for about a minute and then I use another pump only for the eyes. It removes all makeup including the most stubborn waterproof mascara and long wearing liners. When you add a few drops of water, the oil turns milky and then can be easily rinsed off with water. It doesn’t leave an oily residue on the skin apart from a silky smoothness. I follow it up with a gentle cleanser (Kama Ayurveda Rose & Jasmine Cleanser) to remove all traces of the oil completely from the skin. My skin feels really clean, soft and smooth post cleansing. After watching Lisa Eldridge’s video on Facial Massage, I used this to massage my face a couple of times and the results were phenomenal! It made my skin so incredibly soft and smooth after a 10 minute massage, absolutely amazing!

I can’t think of anything I don’t like about the product except maybe that the packaging could have had a better locking mechanism. The oil itself is fabulous and I recommend it to everyone! Its very effective at removing makeup and makes the skin really silky and soft. Its also free from mineral oil so in case you are allergic, you can safely try this out!

I have been using this since last year and I am about to buy a new bottle! I love it too! I am glad this product works for you as well. Just a heads up, the twist mechanism of the bottle of mine is kinda broken now after almost 12 months of use. Eeek. All in all, i love it! It does a great job!

I have oily skin even in winters..i am worried if It would suit me as I am oily.. What do you think ?

    • January 26, 2015 / 12:46 pm

It would. Cleansing Oils and Balms emulsify with water and wash off so oily skinned people can use them as well.

Hi ankita..how does it perform compared to the Clinique take the day off cleansing balm?

    • January 27, 2015 / 3:41 pm

This emulsified a little more, gets milkier when you mix with water. I think this may be a little more effective than the clinique one though I loved that as well.

The MAC one is more effective and emulsifies better than the TBS one.
