Today I’m reviewing the new Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in a bright pink shade – #230 Infamous.
Price : Rs 2300 in India | US $30 (Available at sephora.com)
What Estee Lauder says about the Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick :
A six-hour wear, highly-pigmented lipstick that gives your lip look the ultimate transformation.
What it does : Make a bold color statement that lasts. Saturate lips with high-intensity color—in one stroke, swiping on a statement shade that works with all skintones. Designed with multi-faceted pigments that add definition, and a time-released moisture complex that seals in hydration, it leaves lips looking beautifully shaped, sculpted, and curvaceous.
My take on the Product
I really like the packaging of this lipstick. The navy and gold combination is classy yet modern, the packaging feels luxuriously hefty and I love the magnetic closure! The texture of this lipstick is smooth and creamy and it applies with a satin cream finish on the lips. The formula is very pigmented and gives full opaque coverage – excellent for masking pigmented lips. I wasn’t expecting long wear but I was surprised by how well this wore! I got about 5-6 hours of wear with this without any bleeding or feathering. It left a pink stain on the lips that stayed for another few hours. It seems to get a little towards the matte side after a couple of hours which helps with the wear time.
The only letdown for me with this lipstick was the hydration level. I was expecting it to make my lips really soft, hydrated and smooth but it was only mildly hydrating. At this price tag, I expect the lipstick to be more moisturizing and truly feel luxurious on the lips. I find the original Pure Color lipstick to be more comforting on the lips as compared to the Envy Sculpting lipstick. I like this lipstick, but I did not love it the way I have loved YSL and Dior lipsticks in the past. If you like long wearing lipsticks and low hydration is not an issue for you, you would really like this formula.
Infamous is bright pink that looks quite fresh and vibrant against my medium complexion. It looks warmer in the tube but leans cooler once applied on the lips. Its a really pretty bright color, may not be everyone’s cup of tea but those who like pinks and bright colors would love this!
