Rose Pink and Peach Lipsticks for Indian Skin (Reader Query)

Q : Hey Ankita! Since weeks I have been trying to get hold of certain rose pink and peach lipstick shades for my school farewell ceremony! I have read millions of reviews regarding the perfect lipstick shade and rather than landing on a decision, they has confused me even further. I could think of no other person other than you to help me out with this. Only if you could take some time out to suggest me certain matte peach and rosy lipstick shades, I’d be grateful!

A : Hey! Thanks for your question! I personally LOVE rose pink and peach/coral lipsticks for everyday wear and there are a few shades that I feel would work on most skin tones. Since you’re graduating school, I want to recommend options that are affordable hence I’m not recommending MAC and high end brands here. Here are a couple of my favorites that I think will suit you –

Lotus Herbals Pure Color Lipstick – Peach Creme (vibrant peachy coral), Pink Blush (warm rose)

These have a creamy satin finish but you can easily make them matte by dabbing a tissue gently over the lips after application. Both these colors are super gorgeous and brighten up the face. I remember using Peach Creme on my cousin sister on her farewell and also gifted that to her on her birthday and she loves it! Its a really pretty color! Worn Pink Blush HERE.

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick – Soft Rose

This is one of my all time favorites and one of the earliest lipsticks I bought. The warm peachy rose color looks great on the Indian complexion. I’ve worn it HERE. Revlon also has a shade called Peach which is a soft true peach shade but it looks better on lighter complexions I think.

Lakme 9-to-5 Lipstick – Red Chaos

Lakme 9-to-5 lipsticks are quite affordable and not very drying mattes. Red Chaos is a pretty peachy pink that’s worth checking out. The range has 40 shades and has lots of pinks, peaches and soft shades that I may have missed so have a good look at the range if you visit the counter. I’ve worn it HERE.

Revlon Plumpsexxy Lipstick – Rose Passion

Rose Passion is a super pretty warm coral that I personally find very flattering on myself. The formula feels really creamy so its very forgiving on the lips but you can always make it matte by blotting it down with a tissue. I’ve worn it HERE.

hi.. can you please suggest some good affordable brushes to buy in India and also a contouring product for beginners. Please answer soon.. Urgent need.. Weekend party..

Hi Salina, sorry couldnt get back to you earlier. You could try Colorbar eye makeup brushes and for the face, I'd recommend The Body Shop – they aren't very economical but they last well. Vega brushes are very affordable but some are quite scratchy unfortunately. As for contouring products, you could go for a matte blush or bronzer that 1-2 shades darker than your natural skin tone. If you let me know your skin tone, I can help.

Hi, you could try the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting concealer. It brightens quite well and is not heavy on the coverage. Would also suggest the Lakme Absolute Face Stylist concealer.

One more query hope u will reply..what should be the shade of concealer..exactly the shade of foundation or lighter than the foundation

        • September 7, 2014 / 10:59 pm

That really depends person to person. If you have very deep under eye bags, then the concealer would be darker than the foundation. You can add a touch of lighter concealer on top to brighten it up.

L’Oreal Shine Caresse in Bella is great if you want a rosy pink lipgloss. Ruby Riddle from the new Street Wear collection is a lovely peach color and costs just Rs.180!

I got braces a while back and eversince i have been on the look out for soft peachy pink shades which dont draw too much attention to my lip area ;). but still look like i put some effort to add some color. i'll definitely look into all these options.

My favorite lipsticks in shades of pink:

Clinique Curviest Caramel Chubby Stick (around 1000 rs)

This suits many skin shades. This has a pretty rose color, which turns slightly peachy later. It is also very creamy.

Mac has a couple pink shades: Hug me, Bare Again, Angel (very pink pink) (around 1000 rs)

Deborah Milano also has some pink lipsticks and lip glosses.Atomic matte 17 is a pink shade.

I have no words to express how grateful I am for your superb reviews.. I love this revlon soft rose so much.. Such a pretty shade !!! you’re so good at what you do.. Please never stop the good work! 3/4ths of my makeup consists of stuff i buy after reading your review.. And your recent burgundy vampy look had a very sophisticated look.. Hi ankita…
M looking for a nice sober peach shade which is satin/creamy.
    Not too dark or bright.
With a little shimmer or glossy look.

    Any suggestions??
Ive looked everywhere and now day’s every thing is mostly Matt.
