My take on the Product

The Avene Very High Protection Emulsion comes in a tube packaging with a pump dispenser at one end. I really like the convenient and hygienic packaging of the product. The product has a milky emulsion texture – slightly runny but easy to spread on the skin. The texture feels fairly light and works quite well with my oily skin. It gets absorbed with light massage leaving a powdery satin finish on the skin. I like the fact that its not a dry matte as the satin finish helps BB cream/foundation apply more smoothly on top.

Despite being high SPF, this doesn’t leave a ghostly white cast on my face. Sometimes I’ve skipped moisturizer on very hot days and just used this. It leaves my skin soft and supple, doesn’t make it greasy or clog pores and gives a soft glow to the face without making it oily. It gives protection against both UVA and UVB rays and the high SPF is great for the summers. I’ve worn this on long outings on weekends and I did not get a tan/sunburn on my skin at all this summer. It also claims to be very water resistant so if you go swimming, this would be great!

Overall, really like the texture of this sunscreen and would recommend it to women with normal to oily skin. Do note that this is oil-free and doesn’t contain alcohol, silcones or parabens. This product is also available in a cream form which would be better suited for dry skinned people as it has a richer texture.

 My take on the Product

The Avene Very High Protection SPF 50 Spray is a water resistant sunscreen that comes in large spray bottle packaging. The packaging is plastic and hence quite durable and not heavy. The texture of this product is very watery and runny and hence it feels lightly hydrating on the skin. I’ve used this on my arms and legs this summer and it works great! It absorbs into the skin with light massage and doesn’t feel greasy which is one of my top requirements from a sunscreen (can’t stand greasy ones!). I’ve tried this on my face was well and it makes my skin a little shiny after a while so I prefer using this for the body (note – this is not oil-free like the Emulsion). Tokyo summers are not as hot as Indian summers but the humidity is quite high here which causes a lot of sweating. The Avene sunscreens are very water resistant as claimed and don’t melt/slide off the skin with sweat.

Overall, this is a great body sunscreen which is light, non-greasy yet hydrating and gives broad spectrum sun protection. The spray mechanism makes application quick and easy. Love the fact that these are paraben, alcohol and silicone-free. Highly recommend this to people with sensitive skin!

Could you please provide the exact link to buy emulsion? I am seeing sprays ad cream form in Amazon, unable to locate the emulsion. Have checked the price in Nykaa also. But there the price is around rs 4000 bucks for emulsion and rs 1250 for a cream one. Are you sure that the emulsion costs rs 1250 only?

The packaging for both is so convenient! I love my Neutrogena but might try this when I feel like changing things up. 😉
