Today I’m reviewing the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in the shade Flush. I bought this online from sephora.com after having heard so much about Tarte blushes!
Price : $26.00 (approx. Rs 1600)
What Tarte says about the Amazonian Clay 12- hour Blushes :
A long-wearing, supremely soft blush infused with Amazonian clay harvested from the banks of the Amazon River and naturally baked by the sun.
Product Performance: This 12-hour blush universally benefits all skin types for a fade-free, flawless finish in shades ranging from soft to vivid and matte to shimmer to suit a wide variety of skin tones.
Powered By: Amazonian clay minimizes oil in and around pores to balance skin and keep product in place while also hydrating the skin naturally to restore moisture, reducing the appearance of dry, flaky skin.
My take on the product
Tarte blushes come in a plastic round packaging – the outer plastic has the same color as the blush shade hence making it easy to locate and identify individual shades if you own more than one of these. The packaging comes with a mirror inside and no applicator. The blush pan itself has a beautiful pattern with the brand logo embossed on the surface. I love the look of the packaging especially the pattern on the blush!
The texture of the blush is fairly smooth and it feels much more compact and much less powdery than a regular powder blush. Because of the slightly stiff (but not dry) texture, it gives sheer color in single swipe and the color can be easily built up by layering. I think the sheer, buildable formula is fantastic for beginners. It blends easily with a few strokes of the brush and even though it has a matte finish, it looks quite natural and doesn’t give a dry look to the skin. It is long wearing and I get about 8-9 hours of wear from this, quite good compared to regular blushes though the 12 hour claim is a bit of an overstatement! Overall, I really like the formula as its easy to wear, looks good on the skin and stays on quite well!
Tarte products are cruelty-free and are formulated using Amazonian Clay that helps hydrate the skin in dry areas while absorbing excess oil from greasy areas. It also claims to minimize oil around pores though I guess it would be easier to see that effect with powders and foundations. The only visible benefit of the Amazonian Clay in the blush is the long wear. I have heard so much about Tarte products and would love to try out their base products. But buying foundations online is such a risk! If you have any idea which shade in their foundations would work for MAC NC40, do let me know in the comments below!

The shade Flush is described as pink-berry by Tarte. Its a slightly cool toned soft pink with a berry-purple tone. I think the shade has been reformulated recently because when I ordered this based on swatches online, I was expecting a deep, intense berry-purple color. I was a little disappointed when I opened my Sephora package and thought this color would not look good on my skin tone at all. I could not have been more wrong! The shade, despite its slight cool tone, looks beautiful on my medium, warm toned complexion. Its gives a lovely flush of pink to my cheeks and pairs really well with pink/berry lipsticks.
I have applied the color quite heavily in this post so that you can see how it looks on me. You can wear it sheered down as well for a more natural tint. I really like this color, its a very pretty natural looking soft pink and I recommend this shade to everyone looking for a soft pink blush.
