Today I’m reviewing the newest addition to Bourjois’s lip range – the Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick! I’ll be talking about the shade Peach Club today –
Price : Rs 970
My take on the Product
The Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks can best be described as a liquid lipstick-lip cream hybrid that pack a serious punch of pigment! The texture and consistency is delightful – they feel very light weight and ‘thin’ but because they are super pigmented, they show up very well even on pigmented lips. The glide on very smoothly on the lips, I get the distinct feeling of silicone in it which I suppose gives it the cushion-y feel and long wear. These are matte finish but the most forgiving matte finish lipsticks I’ve tried! I generally recommend buffing/moisturizing your lips before wearing matte lipsticks but with these, you could get away without it too. But they are not moisturizing so if you have very dry/chapped lips, you might feel a need for something emollient after a few hours.
They don’t emphasize dryness, they don’t get tacky and stay on for hours and hours! I had to use a cleansing oil to get all the color off my lips! They do fade a bit after a few hours/meals but there is still a lot of color on the lips at the end of the day. One of the best things about these is that they are low maintenance – no feathering, bleeding issues or need for touch ups. I’ve had some makeup disasters when I’ve worn a bold/bright lipstick and had a meal but none of that with the Bourjois Velvets!
Overall, this is unlike anything I’ve tried before and Bourjois has done an amazing job with these! Since I love bold colors and lipsticks that stay on well, this range is a dream come true for me! And I love the look of the packaging as well – the square colored tubes look really unique and the slanted applicator fits the curve of the lips with ease. There is nothing I do not like about these! Except maybe the price which is on the higher side. But I personally feel these are absolutely worth it! Highly recommended!

Peach Club is a rusty coral shade that is fantastic for the summers and for the Indian complexion. This is the most wearable shade in the range but still gives enough color to perk up the face. If you’re looking for a warm coral that is neither too light nor too bold, this is the perfect one to go for!
