My take on the Product

I think NYX may have been the first one to bring out ‘crayons’ in the market in the form of Jumbo eye pencils and Lip pencils. The idea behind these products is that they are multi-purpose – the Jumbo eye pencil can be uses as liner or as an eye shadow. These come in a simple white crayon packaging – the pencils needs to be sharpened and I wish these were twist up instead. I don’t enjoy sharpening plastic pencils and there is quite a bit of product wastage.

Coming to the formula itself, these pencils are great but have their limitations. The texture is really smooth and creamy, they glide easily with no tugging on the skin and have great color pay off. However the issue lies with their staying power. Because these stay creamy and don’t dry down or ‘set’ after some time on the skin, they can smudge, fade, transfer easily. These work best if used blended as highlighter or as a base for powder eye shadows. Used alone as eye shadow, these begin to crease within an hour on my lids and the creasing/fading steadily gets worse. Topped with a layer of powder eye shadow however improves the wear time significantly. If you are using them blended over the skin as aย highlighter (brow bone, cheekbones), you won’t have the creasing issue but the formula retains its slightly wet looking finish and setting it with compact/translucent powder does help in extending the wear and avoiding the ‘greasy’ look.ย Overall, I am not crazy about the Jumbo Eye pencils but they are so pocket-friendly that I don’t mind going the extra mile to make these work!

Rating : 3/5

Sparkle Nude is a soft champagne color that is great for the inner corners and brow bone highlight.

French Fries is a beautiful antique bronze that is very flattering on warmer/darker complexions! I really like this color as I love wearing bronze eye shadows and this makes a perfect base for them!

I'm using the one called 'Bronze' – which is somewhere between these 2 colors. Great for medium skin tone & doesn't budge ๐Ÿ™‚
