Bourjois has recently launched 2 new products under the 123 Perfect range – a CC cream and a CC eye cream. I’ve been using both for the past couple of days and here’s my review of the CC eye cream.
Price : Rs 660 for 1.5 ml
What Bourjois says about the Product :
The skincare action of an eye cream + the colour correction of a concealer! Its multi-care formula and its smoothing silicon applicator : Camouflages imperfections and dark circles around the eyes. Smoothes wrinkles and fine lines. Reduces puffiness..without creasing. Its skincare action and lightweight texture leave the area around the eyes supple and soft – 24Hr hydration- SPF 15. Result : Eyes are rested and radiant and left feeling supple and soft.
My take on the Product
The Bourjois 123 Perfect CC eye cream comes in a twist up slim pen packaging with a smoothing silicon ‘nib’-like applicator. The applicator is great for dabbing the product under the eyes but its not soft or pliable enough for blending. When you twist the packaging at the bottom, the eye cream gets pushed out of the vein running through the silicon nib. (You might need to give 20-25 twists when using it for the first time). A little goes a long way and 1 twist gives enough product for 1 eye.
The product has a runny liquid texture and it feels sheer and light weight on the skin. Its easy to blend and I do find it quite hydrating without being greasy (I’ve skipped my regular eye cream at times while using this). The formula is supposed to contain colored pigments that cancel out dullness giving a brighter look to the eyes. I do find this more of a brightening than covering concealer. It offers low medium coverage but does make the eye area look more awake and brighter. My under eye area needs a bit more though and I find the combination of this as the base with the CC cream for Face (from the same range) sufficient to conceal and brighten my under eyes. Even though it has a near matte, satin finish once blended out fully, it needs to be set with a powder else it begins to crease soon. Once set with powder, it stays put without issues for a good 7-8 hours. The cream has a mild floral fragrance.
There are 3 shades available in the CC eye cream (#21, #22, #23) and I was sent #22 – Light beige for review. I find the shade a little light for me and hence it can look *slightly* ashy even though it does warm up and adapt to my skin once blended. I feel #23 might have been a better match for me. (For your reference – I wear MAC Pro Long wear concealer NC42 and Clinique Even Better concealer Honeycomb). That said, I still like using this for everyday wear or for the ‘no-makeup’ look – it brightens up the eyes and the overall effect is very natural. I would recommend this to people who don’t have much under-eye pigmentation issues or for those looking for a subtle everyday concealer. Its not suitable for those with deeper complexions or with heavier dark circles.
