Friday Favorites #3
Friday Favorites #3

1. NARS Blush : Torrid

NARS Torrid is the most stunning blush ever! Its a beautiful apricot shade containing gold micro-shimmer that instantly adds warmth and life to my face. Orgasm is the most hyped blush from NARS but it gives little color and mostly shimmer to my medium complexion. Torrid on the other hand is everything I had imagined Orgasm to be. The formula is excellent – soft texture, brilliant pigmentation, blends easily into the skin and stays on well! Full review coming up soon. I’m wearing it HERE. Price : 3000 JPY (Rs 1776)

2. Olay Total Effects 7 in one Day Cream

This is an excellent day cream for winters. The texture isn’t too thick so my combination skin carries it well, it adds an instant glow when I apply it and it contains SPF 15 which means I can skip the sunblock (for now!). I haven’t been using it too long so don’t know if it does anything in the long run. Will update if it does. Price : Rs 750.

3.  Faces Glam on eye shadow : Ruby Quartz

I saw a girl wearing a pink eye shadow similar to this on the train the other day and had the urge to sport pink lids myself. I rarely wear pink eye shadows and when I do, I generally reach for this one. This coppery pink satiny eye shadow doesn’t have the best wear time but the texture, pigmentation and color is great! Its also easier to carry than a true pink.  I’ve worn it HERE. Price : Rs 249.

4. Make Up For Ever Star Powder : 902 Pearl Gold

This is hands-down one of the most flattering highlighters for my skin tone. Pigments are a bit messy and hence I don’t reach for this often. But every time I do, I love how natural and soft it looks while adding a gorgeous golden glow to my skin. Swatched HERE. Price : $20

5. Lakme 9-to-5 Lip Liner : Brick Rose

Just like the 9-to-5 lipsticks, the 9-to-5 lip liners are an absolute delight! The formula is soft and creamy, color pay off is excellent and most importantly – they are matte but non-drying on the lips! Brick Rose is a beautiful peachy brown color – excellent neutral for the Indian skin (great nude for duskier complexions!). I love wearing this with a heavier smokey eye! Review coming soon. Price : Rs 375.

  1. Torrid is such a stunning color! :). I’d have definitely picked it up had it not been so pricey 🙁

Btw your new dp is amazing. It’s definitely one of the best pic of yours! 🙂

  2. HEY Ankita :)……I always do read ua posts from last 1 year I guess….bt nva comment:P sorry…I have my wedding coming up and I loved ua wedding sarees I wanted to noe from where did u buy in Mumbai n what were itz price range??

    1. I think Orgasm is better for pale skin. On deeper skin tones, the color hardly shows, just shimmer. I’m not a fan of that look though I’ve heard people say that Orgasm in universally flattering. Didn’t find it so myself.

  3. my skin is going bonkers and has become extremely..skeptical about Olay as in the past olay products haven’t suited me well..not that they break me out but instead of giving a glow it makes me look dull 🙁

  4. The moment i saw ur review about the mufe highlighter i so wanted to buy it but its out of stock online on sephora website…m definitely getting it…and love nars blushes…especially torrid and amour as i have these two. Can u suggest any other blush from nars except these two which will look good on indian skin tone…orgasm dont suit me even though i have heard so much about that!

  5. I have the Lakme lip liner and the Faces eye shadow in a different shade and mom is currently using the Olay cream, rest I’m yet to get my hands on.

  6. I would love to get my hands on Nars Torrid. I tried Orgasm in a GK store and didnt like it. As you said, it didnt show up quite well on my skin.
P.S. Your new avatar is gorge 🙂

  7. Olay kept lying in my makeup drawer ever since i bought it……its time it sees the daylight then!…….

I got this brick red lip liner after i read your post on your wedding makeup……its so buttery smooth and lovely colour…i wore it solo once and it looked really good!……

i looked up MUFE star powder its out of stock on eBay…:(
