My take on the Product

The Rouge Caresse lipsticks come in a silver tube with a colored label at the bottom. The packaging is very similar to the Infallible lipsticks – I’m not a huge fan, I feel it could be prettier and more fun! Though I like the label at the bottom – makes it easy to locate shades. The texture of this lipstick is like that of a thin, non-waxy balm – it feels soft and glides smoothly on the lips. It applies sheer in single swipe but the color can be built up by layering. While it imparts a lot of color to the lips in a couple of swipes, it doesn’t go fully opaque – it stays a bit translucent. The lipstick very light weight on the lips, quite comfortable and hydrating. As the brand puts it – it gives a veil of color to the lips with a luminous shine. Its not as ‘wet’ looking as a gloss but not like a traditional creamy lipstick either. I find it quite staining and hence it lasts long – about 4-5 hours easily though the shine wears off sooner. The color doesn’t settle into lines, doesn’t get patchy and doesn’t feather or bleed during the course of its wear time.

When I first heard of these, the Revlon lip butters came to mind. But after using these, I feel they are closer to the Kissable Balm stains than the lip butter. The lip butters are thicker in texture and not as light weight as the L’Oreal Rouge Caresse.

Overall, I really like the Rouge Caresse lipstick – its light weight and hydrating but gives more color/wear time that a traditional sheer lipstick! Impulsive Fuchsia is a blue-toned hot pink, almost leaning towards orchid that adds a nice pop of color to the face. It has a bit of purplish pearl in it which gives it its cool tone. Its a great way to sport a bright color in an understated way! L’Oreal Paris has done a stellar job with their Caresse lip range! Its not often that I find myself giving a 5/5 rating!

Rating : 5/5

p.s – Rouge Caresse ‘Impulsive Fuchsia’ topped with Shine Caresse ‘Bella’ looks gorgeous! Bella adds some warmth and more shine to the former and they together give a little more coverage to pigmented lips.

  2. Fuchsia IS your color, Ankita! Love how this looks on you! I’m glad to hear it can be built up. I am personally not a fan of lipsticks that are just a little more than a tinted lip balm 😉

  3. Going by your review I purchased the gloss from this range and I m loving it!! I love your reviews and go by your recommendations. You are doing a great job Ankita!!! Keep the reviews coming.
