Today I’m reviewing the newly launched Lakme Absolute Face Stylist concealer. This new concealer by Lakme is available in 3 shades and I’m reviewing the darkest shade – 05 Honey.
Price : Rs 900 for 3.5 g
What the brand says about the product :
– clever and unrecognizable coverage of every blemish, including uneven skin and under-eye dark circles
– superior blendability and weightless finish
– comes in three shades: Fair, Medium, Honey
My take on the Product
The concealer comes in a see through tube with a doe foot applicator. I like the slim, clean packaging and I’ve been using this for nearly 2 weeks now. To cut a long story short – this is a great concealer for everyday wear! The liquid consistency is neither too runny nor too thick, it blends effortlessly with a few dabs of the fingertips and stays put for a decent amount of time. It feels really light weight and gives about medium coverage. The handy packaging, ease of use and wearable coverage makes this an excellent everyday wear product. The formula is neither too dry nor too rich – it doesn’t settle into lines nor does it crease.
The staying power is good – it stays intact for about 7-8 hours and fades a bit after that. I like that it isn’t very wet – on blending it gives a semi-matte natural finish. To me it feels very much like the MAC Select Moisture cover concealer but with slightly better coverage! Even though its not very emollient, its been working fabulously for me in the harsh Tokyo winter even when I’ve not hydrated my under eye properly. Overall, I like this concealer a lot! Shade no. 5 Honey is a good match for me (its the darkest shade from the range).
As much as I like the product, I really wish Lakme had brought out more shades. The Face Stylist range has 6 shades for foundation, 5 for compact but only 3 for concealer! The darkest shade works for someone with medium skin tone like me but would be slightly pale for duskier beauties or women with heavier dark circles. Apart from the limited shade selection, the second thing that I’m not thrilled about is the price! The price is quite high for the quantity of product [Rs 900 for 3.5 g]. I feel I’m going to finish up this tube in a few weeks if I use it everyday!
These 2 things aside, I think its an excellent product and I’d recommend it! If you want something that’s easy to put on, doesn’t look heavy on the skin and givesnatural looking coverage – you’ll love this! If you have heavy dark circles or you need a concealer with high coverage (for special occasions), you can skip this.
The GOOD about Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Concealer :
- Simple, easy to use packaging
- Workable liquid consistency
- Blends easily
- Gives medium coverage
- Natural nearly matte finish
- Decent staying power
- Doesn’t crease
- Doesn’t settle into lines
The NOT-SO-GOOD about Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Concealer :
- Only 3 shades
- Expensive for its quantity
- Doesn’t give heavy coverage
The Lakme Absolute Face Stylist concealer has been a staple in my makeup kit since the past few weeks. Its very easy to use, blends effortlessly with fingertips (no brush required) and gives medium coverage with a lasting finish. I think its the perfect concealer for everyday wear and for women who don’t need heavy duty concealing. It feels natural and weightless on the skin, it doesn’t settle into lines and doesn’t crease – its everything one wants from a good concealer. Its pricey for the small quantity but the formula is excellent! The shade range though is limited and a major disappointment for me. I wear Honey which is the darkest of the 3 shade in this range.
